    1.6.13: I Spy!

    ATP Auckland: Bellucci +135
    Bellucci peetered out as the "guest" in the Challenger Finals in Sao Paulo - but a few weeks after, he scored a confidence boosting win over Roger Federer in an exhibition match in December. He draws Goffin to open. Goffin lost to Melzer in his 2nd match last week in Brisbane. He didn't play particularly bad, but a guy headed upwards - needs to win matches like that. Bellucci will be in his 1st appearance of the new season, but this is a comfortable spot for him. He's 4-3 in the main draw in this tournament in the last three trips. One of the things Goffin seems to have trouble with is playing against players with strong serves on quicker surfaces. While the surface isn't the best for the Brazilian, his serve does have some pop and if he isn't feeding Goffin a lot of 2nd serves ... he could be tough to break. Goffin may well rebound from last week's loss, but I'm looking for a good start for The Looch if he serves strong.

    ATP Sydney: Ebden +130
    1st up for Granollers, while the home standing Aussie tries to rebound from a season opening drubbing to Goffin in Brisbane. This is almost an identical set-up to their meeting last year in this tournament. Ebden had lost to Stepanek in Brisbane and then beat Granollers in 3. Granollers can on occasion be tough on this surface, but his game is better suited elsewhere. Ebden is still green, but normally does heat up as the Aussie tournaments go on - at least from a competitive standpoint. Wins don't always follow, but I think the effort will be there and at plus odds he should at least make Granollers work if he wins.

    50-50ish in my opinion, but I like that Ebden has shown the ability to bounce back in past years and play well in Australia. Granollers has game, but a 1st up on his least favorite surface - good spot for Ebden IMO. Basically looking to split these dogs and profit. Not sure why people are hot on Sousa. He's a dirt rat. Mayer is always tough to figure out motivation wise. Pretty much a no play for me.

    She goes up against Su-Wei Hsieh who reportedly was very concerned following her loss last week that she had some sort of injury. She was complaining of soreness in her arms. I think the price has to reflect this as otherwise, we'd be looking at the reverse for price I think. Taking a shot that if Hsieh even competes that she isn't 100% and will be looking to protect her status for the Australian Open.

    What's the # ... 23? Tough call IMO. If JJ comes out flat from travel + this being his first match, could be an under. If he brings his best, then there should be some holds - but as Baker showed against Dimitrov, he is breakable also. So I don't know that an over is a perfect fit here.

    I wouldn't play anything Stosur-related until after the Australian swing is over. She's brain dead the first month of the season. After that, if form improves she becomes backable normally.
