Betonline users: Change your password now !

I have an account with Betonline.com. Today I received a call from someone named "Ricky" who offered me a 100% reload bonus with 3x rollover up to $5000. He told me it had to be ** because "Moneybookers processor wouldn't be working until Tuesday".

He knew my Account number and Password.

I said "Ok, I'll think about it." He gave me a name to send the funds to in Panama City.

I contacted Betonline Live Chat and asked them if anyone named Ricky worked there and if they had a 100% cash bonus deal. No and No.

I changed my password with them and I suggest you do the same.

Some rogue employee or ex-employee must have people's account info. Be Careful!

Funny you mention this cause today i got this weird email. It was titled "You like wine?" that's all it said.. i deleted it as i thought it was just spam. then just before i delete it, i open it and see it from betonline.com. it was this girl called selena asking me if i want a nice big bottle of expensive wine since i'm a good customer there. i said sure.. she emailed me back asking me to confirm my home address..

WTF man.. why would she ask me for me address for?? don't they have it in the system?? so i said YES and she emailed me 2 min after saying thank you and that it will be sent Monday. i thought too it was some fraud, but then again, how would it help her by just giving my home address?

    Was this a scam too??

About a year ago, I was called by a guy that claimed to work for a book I was currently playing at. He offered a nice bonus and gave me a ** name. There was some confusion and when I tried to call him back at the number he gave me, the phone wouldn't work. So, I called customer service and discovered the guy didn't work there. Fortunately, I was able to go back to ** and get the money sent back, but the $150 fee was lost along with my nievete ( hopefully, anyway ) But BetonLine does send out bottles of wine, I received mine just before Christmas.

Oh yeah, my memory is very bad, but I believe the scammer claimed to work for BetonLine, but it may have been another book. He did not know my password, as far as I know tho.

    Yes this is true.

The name he gave me to send ** was: Isaias E Juarez Banfield in Panama City, Panama.

I told live chat operator Lars and he told me that he was informing management about the issue.

Alos, at the time of the call I had $0 balance in my betonline account. The scam was obviously to get me to send him money **.

I would be most reluctant to play at any book where staff have access to passwords.

Ricky might work for them. I think I got a call from him before as well. Very sketchy. Tried to give me a different offer than the one I was already offered. People said they didn't know him and then were like, "oh yeah Ricky."

I believe the wine offer was a good one from Selena. Betonline has that on their website. I've used a lot of books and high rated one's. They usually all know your password. This scam is scary.

It was most likely legit...They have outbound sales team that makes calls and are pretty aggressive as they work on commission. The 100% is odd though they offered me 5% extra which they do every so often this was Saturday when they called me.

Asking for passwords in live chat. It's not a good idea. They don't care.

MMM i dont think thats quite correct, at least in one of the books i played, they told me that they dont know or can see my password (I asked to why i couldnt login) and its encrypted for them, pretty cool and safe in my opinion.

DSI and Betonline both ask for passwords in chat from my experience.
on another note: betonline used to have a 100% bonus on a deposit up to $250 with 5 time rollover on deposit and everything earned from the bonus
dont know if they still offer it.

Most of the US books ask for password and the livechat isn't even secured/encrypted so one could intercept the traffic and just read your password/username.

Employees could remember/write down username/passwords and use it or sell it.

No, it was not legit. When Ricky called me back asking if I had a control number for him I said "Well, Ricky, it turns out you don't actually work for Betonline." He just hung up.

And when he called me the first time, I asked him if he had my account number handy because I couldn't remember it. He told me the account number and password.
