The entire internet gaming industry is about to collapse

That's the only thing I see happening here. No matter what online sportsbook I check out, they are ALL saying the same thing. Payment delays. Hmmm..... Something must be wrong somewhere. I have used sportsbook.com since 2002. I have gotten paid every single time for the past six years. Until now. And when I contact them to try and get some sort of explanation, they DO NOT sound confident. Any day now, sportsbook.com will fold like a cheap tent, and the rest of the online sportsbooks will be right behind them. I mean, how else do you explain this payment delay problem that seems to be industry wide?

Maybe.....Except Pinnacle, Greek, Betjam and Cris kep rollin' along, paying out literally in minutes.

Just sayin'...No doubt one's perspective on this issue is in direct relation to what sportbooks one uses.....

I have huge dollars tied up in sportsbook.com. I'm of the opinion that we will get our money but also believe that its only a matter of time until all books stop taking US action... its going to happen.......it's not legal and there are to many hoops to jump through.

Does it actually state in no uncertain terms that online gaming is illegal? I'm actually being serious.

If it was legal then why would Pinny pull out of the market. I don't believe that it is written that it is illegal as the laws are from years ago so it has to do with calling etc. But its not legal and guys are getting arrested that are taking action the book intrade global trading market out of UK or Irland was on 20/20 a few weeks back and the owner said if he comes to the US he will be arrested. Do I think we will go to jail NO but someone who is taking the action clearly doesn't want to be involved this is the entire problem IMO. I honestly believe this is why we are having issue with sporbook.com and feel we will get our $$$ at some point just would bet the Pats will be 7-0 by that time.....

Oh my God! The Pats will be 7-0 by that time? That means we're not getting paid until f'n November? Well, that does not bode well for those who are just now placing wagers, not to mention football season.

Sportbook.com is hardly representative for the industry. Sorry you got burned, but their sh*tty reputation is old news.

The only thing that boggles the mind is why in six years is THIS the only time they ever burned me? Was I just lucky all that time? That's a long time to just be lucky.

They aren't targeting you specifically, they aren't paying anyone right now. As much as this group sucks -- this is a processing issue that is caused by the United States government. If they could easily pay you, they would.

Were you just lucky? Probably not. They usually pay 99% of people. Most specifically anyone that is not beating them out of a lot of cash.

But, if you are in that other 1%, they will rob you blind.

    The industry is going nowhere.

    I'm inclined to believe otherwise.

You can drive a bad car for a long time. No doubt about it. And if you prefer it over a smoother ride, that is not only better quality but is free and makes life a lot more pleasant, you must have a very good reason.

But to act surprised when it finally conks out... Now that would be a stretch.

You weren't lucky. You were pushing your luck. Big difference. If you push your luck too long you end up pushing your car...

It doesn't mean that all cars are now going to stop driving.

The industry in the US is almost no existant any more. Why would the best book on the planet (pinny) leave this market? B/C the red tape is just to much. Obviously someone will continue to launder money but at some point it will be back to Fat Mike getting the lines at 12 on Sunday. hey at least he pays at least my guys do never an issue like this....

Pinnacle left because they could (and it's not like the pro's in the US aren't still playing there).

To the rest of them, the processing issues are just part of the business now. The top books are doing just fine.

I don't miss Pinnacle at all. They were good for scalping, and they usually ended up with the tall straw. People always go on about Pinnacle, but fail to mention that it is the hardest book to beat. By a mile. These are some of the sharpest players (Computer Group) who decided to switch sides. And we're supposed to be happy to play them?

My impression was they left the US market, because they wanted to still be able to enter and exit the US without legal troubles. Different priorities.

They were the best with in game lines and no bet was to big for them. In a hedge or anything like that...the juice was AOK. How could the be tougher to beat then sportsbook.com -20 cents vs -10 cents total? Also ligit lines a superfast payouts. They were the best of all time bar none

I'm not comparing low juice to -110. I've played at books that offer -107 and -108 that were far easier to beat than Pinnacle. Night and day difference. What chance do such books, with slow moving lines(!), have against Pinnacle-based scalpers? That's where a lot of Pinnacle money is coming from. I don't believe for a moment that the majority of sharps who play at Pinny know how to beat that book.

Pinnacle was/is the most professional operation in the business. That I agree with.
Pinnacle is a betting operation disguised as a book. Like sitting down with Johnny Chan.

Have you noticed how slow books are to step into the low juice void left open by Pinnacle?
Betonline is trying. But from what I understand they limit players real quick. And BetPhoenix looks like they'll give it a try. We'll see how that works out. If it was easy everybody would be doing it.

    Dark Horse is 100% correct.

Pinnacle is far and away the hardest book to beat. There's a reason they can deal -104/-104 on NFL sides at $50,000 limits.

Nevertheless it is an integral part of my betting strategy and I keep a large amount of $ there. Their lines are not nearly as efficient in smaller markets. And as opposed to most books that are scared of their own shadow, they will take any bet.

I don't think I could be successful without having them.

Not at my book. I get paid the same day and never a hassle. You are playing at the wrong books. I would never play at a book where I couldn't get my money the same day if requested.

I agree that Pinny is hard to beat, but anyone with an edge can and will beat them. The have weaknesses especially in smaller sports since they offer so many lines and the limits are insane high.

    What?

You have a bad experience at 1 sportsbook out of hundreds of sportsbooks and therefore, you declare that all sportsbooks are ripoffs??

Ok, honestly, I'm wasting my time even responding to this thread. This thread is a total waste of kilobits.

Because we have one fascist president in George Bush, does that mean all americans are fascists?

Because investment bank Bear Stearns failed, does that mean that all banks will fail?

Because one company such as Sharper Image goes bankrupt, does that mean that all companies will go bankrupt?

Sportsbook.com is recognized as one of the most corrupt and dishonest books on earth. You're lucky they didn't steal from you until now. More likely, you're in the hole to them so they didn't have any reason to steal from you before.

Why don't you try a reputable sports book? Instead of doing business with the Enron of sportsbooks, try doing business with a reputable company.
