Hi all,
I have a major complaint to make about Bodog. I have been with them for 5 years and am one of their bigger poker winners. As anyone familiar with Bodog's recent poor treatment of winning poker players are, they have set a new standard in disgusting business practice that proves that they are out to kick out their winning customers and retain their losing ones.
I play sports with them in large volume for a Bodog customer (over $1M in wagers/year), and am a losing sports player. However, I win more in poker than I lose in sports, so they have shown recently that they are not going to tolerate me winning money from them any longer. They removed my deposit fee reimbursement (only for winners), increased their poker rake, removed their poker bonuses (only for winners), removed their poker rakeback (only for winners).
So, this brings me to their disgraceful business decision that should be shared with all. I've made several hundred thousand dollars worth of deposits over my time with Bodog. They NEVER ONCE had a single solitary issue with any of my deposits. In the meantime, I have dealt with dozens of payment problems on their end. I've had disappearing wires, debit cards that I've received in which I couldn't extract funds from, bounced checks, exceedingly long delays in receiving payments and probably other scenarios that I can't recall.
Last week, I made a DBT (direct bank transfer) deposit of $999. My bank called me regarding the validity of the check and asked me to call them back ASAP to let them know if it was ok or not. I called the VIP Bodog customer service dept to ask how to handle their questions and no one on a senior level was available to help me. In fact, I was told by one of their reps that one of the senior members of the customer service department doesn't talk to customers, so he couldn't take my call, in spite of him being in contact with me before. So, it took a while for me to call my bank back and I did approve the payment with them. I found out a couple of days later that they had already rejected it before I had an opportunity to call them back. The reason for the rejection? No signature on the check. I contacted the Bodog VIP department and they told me that my account was frozen because of the rejection, which they must have felt was because of insufficient funds. I was asked to send to them the returned check, which I did, and they also asked for my bank statement, which I did. I had $30,000 showing in my account throughout the entire period, so I proved that this was not a situation of insufficient funds. I am also willing to provide a bank letter explaining the rejection for the lack of a signature with their apology. It should also be noted that about a dozen DBT transactions were successfully processed through this same account. This was a one time bank error. This situation was not caused at all by me and actually can be considered to be the fault of Bodog since they had nobody available to handle my urgent question. I was told I would hear a response back in 12-24 hours and in typical Bodog fashion, I hadn't heard back from them 48 hours later. So, I called and was told that my poker account and the DBR deposit option were permanently frozen. I could however, deposit by credit card and continue playing sports with them. Can there a more blatant act of discrimination and unfair business practice towards a winning player?
The VIP Bodog customer service department is a disgrace. They are constantly lying, giving wrong information, being nasty and are generally as unhelpful as a customer service can be. I have had to complain many times about LEGITIMATE situations such as correcting misinformation they have given me and about many, many payment problems that they have had with me. Evidently, they've wanted to make it as difficult as possible for me to collect my money. In my opinion, they just don't like me because I win from them and are looking for a reason to ban me because I speak out when they give me the runaround or don't provide services within timeframes that they promise.
How can they possibly justify allowing me to continue playing sports (in which I lose money) but ban me from playing poker (in which I win money) because of this situation? Why should the DBT option be banned from my account because of this one situation, which I proved wasn't my fault, when I've dealt with dozens of payment problems on their end? It's because they want losing customers, not winning ones.
