Another BetUS Stealing Player Funds Complaint: Scam Alert

    08.25.2010 (09:41 AM CST)
    BetUS Sportsbook: Scam alert
BetUS (SBR rating D+) sportsbook confiscates winnings again. One day after BetUs credited a player whose bonus winnings were confiscated, a new complaint has been reported by a player who read SBR's BetUS review.

This player deposited $1000 for a 100% freeplay bonus. The promo required a 12X rollover and 60 day hold. His first bet risked his entire freeplay on an MLB wager with +140 odds. After winning his first bet, he increased his balance to $2950 before going all-in on a -150 MLB moneyline. As that bet was pending, the player discovered he could no longer access his account so he proceeded to contact customer service via telephone. He was allegedly informed that pending the settlement of his wager that his account would be closed due to non-recreational play. His bet won and brought his account balance up to $4,915. After one week the player states he was paid only $3516 by BetUS; minus his $1,400 in freeplay winnings. The player claims BetUS told him he was not entitled to these winnings as his rollover hadn't been filled. | Read Full BetUS report

Why is bet US rated D+? How about F? So SAD SBR. By the way betting everything on one game is a pro move. I'm sure he was scalping the other side somewhere else and taking the difference.

Why? I would do the same thing and not scalp the other side.

I can understand taking a hail mary shot with your freeplay, but after winning your freeplay wager and then go all-in with deposit+winnings, is that really recreational? Isn't that just taking a shot at the bookie? I guess maybe if you have a lot of money it is.

Not that I want to defend BetUS or anything, but they did only remove the freeplay winnings and not winnings from his own money or money won from the freeplay winnings. If they were truely rogue they would have either a) kept all his money and closed the account or b) sent him back his deposit. What they should do though is to impose stricter limits on people taking bonuses so we can avoid these situations. If you are going all-in then in all likelyhood you know that a bookie such as BetUS could have a go at you and cite bonus abuse.

agreed...and $1k seems a bit much to risk going all in after depositing...had it been $100 I doubt betus would blink an eye

Depends rki ... some European books are C or C- here because they won't use or acknowledge SBR for disputes and/or will not accept US players.

You have to evaluate some European books on a case-by-case basis and also perhaps take into consideration the European-based sportsbook tracking/rating site which takes a similar approach in its methods but does not automatically 'ding' someone for those issues.

Possibly because SBR mods were touting BetUS as an improved book worth a look for a while.

Why does a big or full balance bet make anyone a pro? If you make a deposit of $1k then you want to play with 1k. You are hardly going to put $10 once a week in the Giants are you!

BetUS confiscates $5,274 from winning bettor
BetUS (SBR rating D+) has confiscated $5,274 from a winning bettor. The player deposited a total of $4,993 to BetUS and increased his balance to $27,796. BetUS subtracted $5,274 from his balance claiming that the winnings were derived from correlated parlay bets. BetUS tells SBR that losing bets were subtracted from wins of other parlays, defending their confiscation by claiming the player was not being freerolled. BetUS' software has not been modified to automatically prevent wagers with X% correlation, despite the functionality being a common gaming software configuration.

i'm so glad i busted out of betus, and never gotten around to redepositing

i had a 60k balance in betus at some pt last year and proceeded to bust out on my own before they could've stolen it from me

Not to defend automatically BetUS in this latest situation, but he was parlaying Nascar matchups? Did I read that correctly? If it involves the same driver of course it is correlated, and should have been obvious even if the software accepted it. Need more details to figure this latest incident out.

I would warn people about this scam book and then a SBR mod would pop in to say they had changed their ways. After a rash of complaints, SBR has done the right thing and have posted on the front page that BetUS is a scam sportsbook.

    Chuck,

I can only state what I have seen. In 2008-2009, they behaved well.

I'm sick of people talking about "professional" gamblers, "professional" is simply a mere term used for those that have made more money than others through smart betting, I consider recreational someone that puts a couple of bets on a week for the fun of it and makes a couple of measly dollars. Some people have been fairly successful at betting, but doubt they would label themselves "professional", i know i dont.

Ok well you are not a pro. Not all people who bet the entire balance are pro's. All pro's would make this move. I WOULD do exactly what he did and he's clearly a pro.

put 1000 in get 1000 fp. Bet 1000 to make 2000 bets 1400 at matchbook to make 600. WOW all of a sudden you just made 60%.

if you win fp you have 3k then bet it all again and hope you lose. This is a PRO move sorry.
