Houston just took three out of four from the Nationals.
There wasn't a single save in the series.
That'd be less impressive if I didn't preface it by saying that Capps and Lindstrom had a combined four save opportunities.
Recapps*:
Game 1: Washington 14-4, no save opportunity
Game 2: Houston leads 6-5 and brings in Matt Lindstrom in the top of the 9th. single, walk, walk, K, single, single. Lindstrom yanked. Washington up 7-6, brings in Capps. error, bunt, double, walk, groundout, walkoff single by Berkman. 8-7 Houston win.
Game 3: Houston wins 5-1, no save opportunity.
Game 4: Astros up 3-2 in the 9th, bring in Lindstrom. Strikeout, lineout, single, triple, single, stolen base, ground out. 4-3 Nationals. They bring in Matt Capps
Then bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, runner on 2nd, Lance Berkman hits a line drive right at Christian Guzman. He somehow lets it drop. Dibble claims it had topspin and Guzman didn't recognize it or whatever, but it was an atrocious baseball play.
Tie game.
Carlos Lee comes up. Walkoff two run homer, game over. 6-4
So yeah, we had Houston win twice by having dueling blown saves by Capps and Lindstrom.
