Horse betting not included. Not sure why they left that out. In reality, more people will become problem gamblers on sports betting than horse betting.

I think you can place horse bets at the couple of casinos they have, but that's it.

Well that sucks. I was really looking forward to putting a few $ on the pick 6 carry overs.

They got the OK in the casinos to offer horse betting and were supposed to open that but the pandemic delayed the opening. I'm not sure if the two casinos near Cherokee take horse bets or not.

Anyone been there to confirm? I can't find anything on the web site.

Yeah, offshore shops limit bets to Pick 4s, they won't take Pick 5 or Pick 6s that I know of.

Holy crap, looks like they altered the bill from last year to include horse racing.

The final version also authorizes separate licenses for horse-race gambling operators to offer thoroughbred racing and would authorize the commission to set rules for live horse racing in the state.

If that's accurate, I'd guess TVG and Twin Spires would be lining up to get access.

Whomever slipped that into the Senate bill deserves a raise. The House version excluded horses (like last year), but the Senate added it in, then sent it back to the House, which approved the addition. What a break. The bill was one vote short last year in the Senate, and that would have approved sports betting but not horses. If that had passed, unlikely they would have revisited the legislation to add horses any time in the coming years.

Somebody figured out better to approve everything and get the money into the state.

I was under impression last years bill included the ponies but maybe I am wrong. I do know the Senate added it to this years bill. GL.
