Bovada account disabled/charge back notice with no documentation or direction

So, I received 2 emails from Bovada today specifying that my account has been disabled and 2 credit card deposits that I made were charged back and that I am now responsible for.

My credit card provider did not reject these charges and I will billed and paid for them.
The Bovada direction below is that I should not contact my bank/credit card and that I should forward payment to Bovada. What kind of bullshit is this???
Additionally, they direct me to call them and the number they give me has a message that they no longer have phone service due to COVID. Unreal.

    Message from Bovada below.

Your account has been disabled as we have received a charge back notice for your Sat, May 9 Credit Card deposit(s) totaling $ 529.50. Please contact us at your earliest convenience to complete a repurchase and settle your account. In the event of a charged-back deposit, it would be best to repurchase with us directly, instead of contacting your bank and requesting that the funds be reversed, as these funds may be uncollectible by our bank. Please note that any pending withdrawals will be held or canceled until this matter is settled. All uncollected transactions are subject to 3rd party collections and credit reporting as per our Credit Card Deposit Agreement. As a precautionary measure, any account found linked to yours in our system may be disabled and considered ineligible for withdrawals at this time. We look forward to your prompt reply. That sucks. It's never a good idea to use a c.c. with a book. You can get in trouble with the bank if they find out you are funding offshore gambling sites.

I've seen this many times before, mostly with Bovada. Bovada is not screwing with you here. Both you and Bovada are likely a victim of one of the shady Chinese card processors these gray market sportsbooks are forced to use. If they tell Bovada you charged back, how do they know otherwise unless you offer proof. Just give them what they ask for and you will be fine.

This is just one of many reasons to always use bitcoin with offshore books. You'll never have any problems like this.

Thanks for the help. I can prove that I was charged for and paid the credit card charges on my bill and can show them subsequent statements showing that it was never charged back.
Am strictly BTC from here on out.

THey aren't going to send it to a 3rd party or report it to a collections bureau. Now you can never trust them - even if this is just a big misunderstanding that gets corrected. Just move on to another book.

I had one similar with betus a couple years ago. I got the first notification 9 months after the deposit. The card had been paid off but it was an obvious processor problem. I got the threats, phone calls from "tough guys" trying to collect but I paid and wasn't giving in. I now get calls and emails with bonus offers as if nothing was wrong but I'm not going back.

    1) offer them statements from your card to show it was paid and never reversed (if possible)

    2) send in a Sportsbook Complaint form if you can't get this sorted out directly and we can ask a senior manager to review.

You should be able to get it smoothed over if the charges are still valid pretty easily.

Any idea why they have that line about other accounts connected you on hold in there?

Thank you, Optional. I don't have a lot of patience for Bovada as their operations/customer service are a mess but I will take your advice. I think the reference to other accounts is just part of their canned email. I don't have another account with them nor have they accused me of that.

Sorry to hear about your situation, Joe. It doesn't seem like Bovada has given much priority to my case as they are still reviewing the credit card statements that I sent to them back on October 28. I'd suggest that you comply with their requests, as annoying as they are, and try to be patient. It seems like they are dealing with shady credit card processors.

Any updates on this mess from Bovada? I may be misled, but are you or SBR contacting Bovado on our behalf?

Sounds like this is from the same time as Colonist's problem.

I contacted Bovada today, and chatted with Jeff B. They stated there was a charge back on 11/4 from a 9/29 deposit. Thus I'm told to wait 15 working days and then send them my cc statement proving my deposit on 9/29 was not returned. Therefore, I'll use another book in the meantime, and most likely going forward.

I filed an SBR complaint in regards to this ongoing Bovada situation. I sent them the credit card statements that they demanded on 10/28 and these clowns are still reviewing them. Thanks, SBR.
