    Gemini

    Hello Forum,

Is Gemini like Coinbase in that it has an "enter bank info" section which enables one to move money from one's bank to the exchange via regular transfer of via debit card.

Only reason I ask is because I think not all exchanges are like this. Kraken for example.

    Thanks brothers!

    Coinbase
    Gemini
    ItBit

Are the only ones that I know of with direct bank deposit/withdrawal for US banks.

    Didn't know about ItBit.

Loggin in to CoinBase on my cell prompts a continuous "verify device" link via email; even though it says "this is a one time only thing."

Emails take a long time to reach my cell as opposed to my PC.

    Thanks brother!

So far as I know, Gemini does not have a debit card option. They give an immediate credit on bank transfer to allow you to buy bitcoin but you cannot withdraw for at least 3 business days. The length of time to initiate a transfer and make your sportsbook deposit will probably be the thing people like least about Gemini.

Signed up for Gemini as an alternative should Coinbase ban me.

I know Circle's gone and they sometimes banned people.

Although not often, I've heard of Coinbase banning also.

I suppose a secondary outlet (like sportsbooks) would be a good idea.

It's been about 5 days and my request is still under review.

I know patience is a virtue, but does anybody have an estimate until a Gemeni decision is reached?

Already sent in state ID and filled out the necessary forms.

    No big deal.....just wondering....thanks fellas.

I got approved within one day. They have been very fast to respond. You might send them an email and see if they can provide a status. They might go ahead and approve it.

just got verified- it took 17 days for me. They told me it was because they had a lot of people join recently. Didn't bother me cause I need it mainly for football.

OK if I ask a question about Gemini?

I'm trying to get a secondary "full service" exchange in case Coinbase shuts me off.

Gemini's a tough nut to crack (at least for me)

I've been working on this for about a month.

Gemini returned an email saying "we're having trouble verifying you."

I successfully uploaded my state ID, and I think a utility bill.

They really didn't say specifically why the hesitation; but mentioned if I "added my bank" to my profile that might help.

Problem was my bank is not a major bank, such as the ones in their drop down menu.

I got verified with Coinbase with my "little known community bank" but like I said, my bank was not on their list.

I must have simply entered my non-major bank's info manually at Coinbase. Can't remember, but it worked.

I emailed them with my bank's info, but they've stopped the engagement.

So I got to a major bank (one that's on their "drop-down" list, and open an account.

Now my plan was to go back to the Gemini site and add that banks data, then email them asking to reconsider my verification.

But a dialogue box appears when I go to enter my bank's data.

It asks for the ONLINE ID # and ONLINE PASSWORD!

I don't remember Coinbase requesting this. This is too much info for me to submit to anybody, no?

I know I must have given Coinbase my bank's account #, I would have had to in order for the to make withdrawals and deposits into the exchange.

Was just wondering, have any SBR members applied at Gemini, and if so, do you remember them asking for your bank's ONLINE ID # and PASSWORD.

I thought my opening an account at a major bank would satisfy them, and it still might, but I'm very leery of giving them my online banking Acc ID (i.e. username) and password.

    Thanks fellas!

yes, they asked for mine also. I have a couple of bank accounts for gambling purposes only so that didn't really bother me. I wouldn't give anyone my main bank account info (the one I have a couple million in)

Coinbase has(had?) the same option, to get verified faster. To give them the login info to verify it and then you change the password afterward.

It sounds kind of bush league to me but I think plenty of people have done it there.

    Ahh! Of course! Thanks Opti!

    Thanks for the input Temple!
