williamhill changes odds on my already placed bet the next day. from -110 to -600

I bet a nfl player prop bet over/under Saturday around 6PM about $906 to win $824. I signed in later that night around 3 or 4am eastern and the bet was still there at -110.

Sunday I log in and see the o/u now is like 280 passing yards instead of 216.5 and instead of cancelling my bet or contacting me they kept my bet open and changed the odds to -600 on an over under prop bet. Who would bet o/u at -600? Changing the odds its no longer my bet. I've never heard of anything like this happening before

The line at 216.5 was up all Saturday and must have been a mistake but what the hell is happening when they keep my bet open but change the damn odds to -600?

Never heard of a book doing that. Usually they'd cancel.

It's quite normal for bets placed on obvious errors to be regraded at the correct odds.

If the error is spotted before the event starts, they should void.

If they don't see it until after the event starts then they should regrade at the correct odds.

Some books do just void everything but the above is the correct fair industry standard.

How is it fair? that wasn't my bet and when presented with those odds it would never have been a bet.

It's fair because you should not have taken a shot at them with an obvious bad line. All that does is give them a chance to free roll you.

right, so a book going into your placed bets and changing the odds without notice is fine and then lie to me and say I had placed it at 1/6 which is bs.

-600 is fraudulent that is not my bet

Now they say there was a visual error on saturday and it should have been at -600. I placed it at -110, so sunday they cancel my bet at -110 and open a bet that i did not place or authorize at -600.

I have never seen a book put a quarterback yards prop at -600 so that sounds like complete bs. Really don't get why they aren't simply cancelling the wager.

UK or US Williamhill? Never been able to get more than a couple hundred at UK one on these props, which is why I'm asking.

He would get less money if they did that.

They have tried to estimate what the odds should have been for the bad line at that moment.

If the OP thinks those odds are not fair the best way to proceed is to email second_opinion@willhill.com and state his case.

    No way is it right.

If it was a bad line, okay void the bet.

But they can't go unilaterally substituting a different line or odds.

But that's completely relative. There is no exact number to the alternate line. It's a complete stab.

I doubt it was a complete stab but agree setting a price on that prop might be difficult.

But this is what happens when we hit obvious bad lines. We open up a potential free-roll against ourselves.

The player really should be happy it wasn't just voided, as other posters here claim is the correct action.

If he doesn't like what they did, OP needs to tell them what he thinks the correct odds should have been and why. But imho he should just take what he was given, learn a lesson about bad lines, and move on.

Exactly once they change the odds from -110 to -600 after the fact that is no longer my bet.
