    new bitcoin book

So tonight I deposited some BTC (currently trading at $89.47 per BTC) into bitbook.

    1. within 20 mins of sending bitcoins they were in my account.

    2. bitbook's lines are the best of all the bitcoin books currently and compete equally well with traditional books.

    3. Max bet is currently 5 BTC--about $450 max per bet.

    4. After winning tonight, I cashed out and after I had hit withdraw button--30 secs later the bitcoins were in my wallet.

love ya boondoggle - but you do a disservice pointing guys to the new bitcoin books.

We know most of the bitcoin books have failed in the past, and most of this current crop of new books will fail too. Bitcoin is already sketchy enough to normal guys here, send them to btcsportsbet/btcsportsmatch so they can avoid out and out scams and try bitcoin betting themselves. Those are the only ones that legit backing and have been around a few years.

Anyway, this thread will probably be nuked anyway. Bitcoin is legit no doubt, but i'd stick with the books that have a proven track record.

Waldo,..i do agree that we both love bitcoin but I disagree with your assessment of the bitcoin books.

What bitcoin books failed? Annonibet just paid out $40k worth of bitcoins and the thread where person waited a few days to get paid out is on bitcointalk.

Btcsportsbet is terrible imo. Very vanilla lines, very minimal lines to bet on--no parlays, no reduced juice & min bet is .5 BTC. I have quit wagering at btcsportsbet due to bit365 (renamed bitcoinsports) and blockbet and bitbook.

I think your concern about bitcoin books being very new and susceptible to failing is a good point. However, you do not mention that the new bitcoin books have limited the max wager size you can place per bet. The new books are really aware of money management and are trying to limit their damage. Bit365's max wager is 1.5 BTC. Blockbet's max wager is 10 BTC and Bitbook's max wager is 5 BTC.

Finally, anonibet which has been around as long as btcsportsbet is the only one who had a slow pay issue. It took them 2-3 days to pay out $40,000 worth of BTC. The other books have had no issues with slowpay.

PS. you know its good for bitcoin when we are arguing over which bitcoin books are the best to use

Are there bitcoin books with parlays?

Having to match bets on btcsportsbet is another drawback. You could win and receive nothing if there's no opposing wager to balance the books.

    Enlighten me.

boondoggle - gotta disagree, I can think of 3 failures - the fake matchbook clone, the original bitbet guy, and one other. Anonibet may have paid, but after a couple weeks, with grading taking 3 days sometimes? That's not the bitcoin way - and btw the min at btcsportsbet is now .25btc, and they have the highest limits of anyone by far.

Sanity Check - you must be talking about btcsportsmatch - which is the matching site with vig free odds, where you match other guys. If you just want to get a bet down with normal vig, use btcsportsbet.com - no matching there.

bit365 (bitcoinsports) does parlays now. You can create parlay of 2-5 teams and wager up to .75 btc per parlay.

waldoprob---that's cool that btcsportsbet lowered their min bet. Currently I can get down $500 pretty easy at other bitcoin books without needing to use btcsportsbet.

Also, btcsportsbet lines really cannot compete with bit365 or bitbook. Currently I place quite a few wagers a day at both bit365 and bitbook and have received payouts every single day without any problems.

Competition is good. May the best bitcoin book win

Raider..you are on ignore for this very reason--you are not credible.

please show me proof that anonibet, bit365, blockbet, bitbook or btcsportsbet has never paid. Anonibet has had some technical issues and just paid out $40,000 worth of bitcoins to a player and the link is at bitcointalk.

All of the books I have recommended have paid out all winners. This is easily confirmed at bitcointalk.

The bitcoin community do not tolerate scammers. If you go to "custom hardware" forum on bitcointalk, you will see how often the community has shut down ASIC scamming vendors.

The bitcoin community is quite vigilant on keeping bitcoin reputable and are very quick to let people know who are cheats and crooks. Posters who are found out to be scamming/cheating are tagged as "scammers" in their avatar on the forums.

Finally, people can see that raider popped up in another bitcoin thread trying to spread FUD.

My cred is AAA. Your cred is shit. You believe some poster on a forum that said he received a $40k check from anonibet? You're either gullible or a scammer.

bitbook does not appear to be offering overnight dimelines. Bit365 is offering overnight dimelines up to -150.

I've used nitrogen for quite some time now. Lots of leagues, parlays and min bet is only 0.001 BTC. You can request a payout by emailing support, but when I don't bet a game in the last 24 hours they just send me back my entire balance back to my wallet.

    boondoggie,

The idea behind BTC is quite intriguing. That being said, which wallet do you use? I've read some bad reports of Coinbase freezing funds and they even state in their TOS that they log IP's and report to government agencies when they feel they "need" to. And even if you use Bitinstant for deposits, you still have to use third party services already used by traditional books. So how can you use a BTC book with complete anonymity? Is it even possible unless you only bet the coins you mine yourself, which at this point would require a significant hardware investment or a lot of luck. Cheers!

You definitely have to be safe! Look for the "about and support pages" on new sites and make sure you are signing up with a legitimate book and not someone's website project.

nitrogensports is another good one I have found. They were a regular sportsbook operating before they started accepting bitcoins on their site. Their support is extremely good and they even have a 1-800 number.

The problem with bitcoin books lies in an flaw of the bitcoin itself. While limited supply and the ability to not increase the supply through artificial means gives bitcoin its value it also smothers itself.

    Case in point....

Person deposits with bitcoins...price of bitcoins goes way up like it has the last four to five months. In an online poker system, where wealth is redistributed minus the rake bitcoins can survive. (Provided the operating costs of the site is less than the bitcoin rake collected). The sportsbook is in a different quandry. The system is not closed like online poker. Sometimes an injection of wealth/assets is needed when the public/bettors go on a run and get more wagers right than the vig is covering. Bitcoins must be purchased from the outside with real money if the public goes on a run. At inflated prices, it can break any bitcoin book who has to pay out if they run out of bitcoins on hand and have to go elsewhere. The USD is the USD and has mild varience. Bitcoin is wild....ups and downs all the time.

The people that espouse that bitcoins are the next best thing in sportsbetting have an agenda. The established bettors need new injections of bitcoins so that the underfunded bitcoin books can pay them out. It is a ponzi scheme that is unintentional. Until the bitcoin stablizes it will be a ponzi scheme....relying on new bit coins to pay the initial investors/winners in the sports book

Something to consider if you are new to bitcoin and betting sports

The guy behind Blockbet said on a BTC forum that he took a loss. He said something like it was only a matter of time before very knowledgeable people took advantage.

That being said, fastest payouts since n e t e l l e r was serving the US and he never stiffed me on a win. I wish him the best on his future projects.

I would not go so far to call bitcoins a ponzi scheme.

I do agree with your points about high fluctuations; the currency needs to become more stable.

If sites (poker or sb) continue to convert BTC -> world_currency as profits are made, the fluctuations should not effect as much. While poker is closed-loop like you mention, they still suffer from the same issue unless they are converting the rake profits as they are realized

People talk about sh*t they don't comprehend. The biggest problem with BTC is currency manipulation. The halt on trading that happened on Mt Gox when the value fell 75% or just the ability for companies and people who got in early to dump a ton of coins to lower the price and then buy them back again. I think the currency will stabilize down the road but definitely a wild ride until everything kind of evens out.

But still not a ponzi scheme.

I meant to convey that the use of bitcoins in a sportsbook setting has gotten to the point of a ponzi scheme.

    I don't believe you.

    1. blockbet did not "go under". The guy announced he was paying everyone out and closing shop.

    2. I got paid for all of my bets, including 10 BTC bets I had placed on the final day

    3. Just because he locked the thread, that would NOT stop people from publicly complaining. Anyone is free to post in the gambling forum there, or in the dediciated "scam accusation" forum.

Who didn't get paid out? They need to come forward. Unless you are just telling lies, which seems like what is going on here.
