    PaddyPower strange decision

I cannot deposit to PaddyPower with my ING **** electron anymore

    Their answer:
Thank you for contacting Paddy Power Customer Support.
Unfortunately online gaming is prohibited in The Netherlands. As ING is Dutch we must have our internal systems set up in such a way that we can not accept any cards that originate from a Dutch company. I do apologise for the inconvenience.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Kind Regards,

    Niall Murray

    Is this correct?

Then why does all the other bookies allow this debit card.

    Are you Dutch?
Then it is -unfortunately- a correct decision.
Dutch people can't play at Pinnacle either.

the decision by paddy power is bs, i am dutch and whether or not online gaming is actually illegal is very much open to debate.

more importantly to this topic: either way, ING itself does not have any policy on blocking gaming transactions for its dutch customers (and have actually united with other banks claiming a banking ban on dutch gambling transactions is a ridiculous idea and not enforcable), let alone on foreign customers in countries where the legality of online gaming is not disputed at all.

paddy power is one of the few books actively blocking dutch customers, and apparently now also blocking dutch banks, apparently in some sort of strange attempt to be totally secure. not sure what you can do about this, since paddy power are definitly alone in this but they're free to run their business any way they like, even though it makes no sense. if i were you i'd move on and try another book with your ing card (paddy power is nothing special anyway), or find a different bank.

They once declined me a free bonus because they claimed my internet was going via a Dutch server.

I am with one of the biggest companies in the UK so I found this debatable.
