    Scammed by Bovada?

So I was contacted by a Bovada costumer service rep about a month ago and he asked if I had ever deposited with Bovada for which I replied "no." He then proceeded to offer me a 50% cash bonus on any deposit. I decided to take up the offer, deposited a couple hundred fiat dollars, and never received this bonus. When I contacted Bovada, they claimed this was for first time depositors only and that I had deposited once already with bodog back in 2009 (which I did). Does anyone agree or disagree with this decision? Was withholding the bonus from me justified?

Totally unjustified. Tell these fukks that in December 2011 they offered a "Bovada Launch $20" Free play to their customers. Which in my mind means that they've launched something new that you were not part of in 2009.
Also every time they contact you, they should have a record of it - If you were not eligible for this bonus, why in the world would they call you with this offer?

That's why I'm kind of pissed. They reached out and enticed me with the "bonus" (probably because they noticed I stopped playing there and used the information they had retained from Bodog). Then when I complied, they said "nope you already deposited with Bodog 4 years ago which is the same as Bovada." Frankly, I think it was slight of hand and shady. Whatever I guess. Won't be playing there anymore or recommending it to anyone.

Yeah at this point don't chase that bonus - that book is not worth your time.

If it's as simple as that, I think a manager will apply the bonus in good faith.

They are pretty reasonable, did you tell them you believed bovada was different than bodog? or do you bring your complaint to SBR first?

only 2 rightful solutions here: either refund the deposit + fees without any wagering or honor the bonus.

I'd bet this member of less than 24 hours, lost his deposit and is complaining after the fact.

I was very civil and explained how I believed they were different and that I was contacted about the bonus, but they refused to budge. I haven't lodged a complaint or anything with SBR. I'm not flipping over tables or anything because it was only $100. I'm more or less disappointed in principle because of the way I felt I was cheated.

You recieved a telephone call or unsolicted call from a CS at bovada that new your first and last name ans were unaware you were a customer from 2009 is hard for me to swallow.

I've been monitoring this site since 2008. Never had problems with any of the other SBR recommended books since then (BookMaker, 5Dimes, BetOnline, or BetIslands). Since this was the first time I had experienced a problem with one of the recommended books, I felt it was a good time to express this concern as I know many here like to stay up-to-date on how books handle various situations.

I understand why you are skeptical because I likewise have seen a lot of sour-lost-deposit-newbies vent on here, but I have been around for a while and am simply stating the facts. And I do think the CS rep was aware I was a customer in 2009; which is why I received a phone call.

Part of the problem's cause is the guy you spoke to first is a commission sales rooster sucker.
Promise the moon, then let you fight it out with the salaried CS reps who are too afraid or too stupid to say anything but 'No'.
