    www.sportsbetting.com.au

    Anyone use this site?

I'm getting an error message when I try to load:

    This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.sportsbetting.com.au, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure. Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

    What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

    Technical Details

www.sportsbetting.com.au uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.

    (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
    Any insight on this?

You probably typed in sportsbetting.com.au or http://sportsbetting.com.au in your browser. If you type in www.sportsbetting.com.au you won't get that error.

It is nothing to worry about though. The site certificate is for www.sportsbetting.com.au and not for http://sportsbetting.com.au. Just an annoying error.

To avoid that error in the future just click on the button at the bottom of the page that says you understand the risk, then accept the certificate or something.

So you don't get the same error? Why should I accept the certificate if it may not be secure?

If you enter www.sportsbetting.com.au (note that www is present in this address) you will not get the error. If you enter http://sportsbetting.com.au (note the lack of www in the address) you will get the error. Every firefox user - including myself - will get the same error, unless they have done something to their security settings.

The reason, as far as I can understand it, is because the certificate is issued to www.sportsbetting.com.au and not http://sportsbetting.com.au - but they are obviously the same site. If you use internet explorer (one of the newer versions) I believe that if you type in http://sportsbetting.com.au you will be automatically be redirected automatically to the www.sportsbetting.com.au address.

Or something like that at least. I would not worry about it. If you are worried then just make sure to enter www.sportsbetting.com.au (note the www!) and you should not get the error. I have seen this happen with a lot of bookies. If you have a betdaq account then try to enter http://betdaq.com and then try to log in. It won't let you due to some certificate error. However if you type in the address with www then you will be alright.

I realize you're just trying to help, but even if your point were valid, which it's not, do you think I would put 'www.' in the f'ing thread title if that's not the address I entered? Prefix; no prefix; Google link...all paths of navigation go to the same site with invalid security certificate.

Shit book??? It has been around a very long time in Australia..sportsbetting.com.au was the first bookmaker in Sydney (Australia) to be given approval to conduct internet sports betting, in April 1998.
