New Zealand TAB is ok, but their opening hours are a real pain, something like 0730-0000 NZST.
If you can bet at any TAB (aus or nz) you must be able to bet at pinnacle too, so as I see it NZ Tab is only really good for the horses, rugby & league, most other things their odds are pretty bad, on the bright side their system seems to suggest they will take up to $100k on most bets and your funds could not possibly be any safer.

My impression of the Australian Tabs is pretty much the same, I've heard you can put in wagers of up to $1,000,000 online at TABsportsbet! who knows how true that is..

All TABs are good for large bets, some are better for more options! The Victorian and nsw are the best, TABsportsbet!

TAB, you can wager pretty much however much you want. Some guy had $1 million dollars on Rafael Nadal to win @ $1.02 in the Aussie Open last year.

I have accounts with the NSW TAB and Tattsbet only.
I understand that the WA TAB does limit players?
Being a Victorian I am not permitted to open an account with the NZ TAB due to some cosy (and I believe illegal agreement) between them and the VIC TAB.

My prime reasons for wanting a NZ TAB account are for access to fixed prices on NZ racing which are not elsewhere available and for access to their sports markets as they do sometimes offer top odds and have the benefit due to timezone of opening earlier than their Australian counterparts which is often an advantage for playing US sports. However I have heard that they are quick to limit winners.

The TABs are best for racing exotics but I don't play those.
Only a fool would make straight win or place bets with them when you can get a minimum of 5% better odds from the corporate bookies and best of the 3 totes (and best of 3 totes and top fluctuation for metropolitan meetings) for win bets from some of the corporate bookies.

For sports it is true that they operate on higher juice than the bookies but that doesn't mean that I don't find enough plays where they are betting the best odds anywhere.

Most certainly worth maintaining an account with either the NSW or VIC TABs and Tattsbet for this reason. Both the NSW and VIC TABs (Tabcorp) put up the same odds but Tattsbet is independent.

Tabcorp will certainly accept decent sized wagers. Recently I got set for well in excess of Pinnacle's circled limit on an NHL game. Sometimes the system will display a message that your stake is too high but you can reduce it and come back straight away and place a second or third bet. Unlike with Pinnacle's automatic system, Tabcorp can be a little slow to reduce the odds after a limit bet.

Tattsbet isn't near as good for large stakes and does limit players but I do find best odds there from time to time on the footy codes and tennis.

Tabcorp operates a loyalty program which offers various gifts including regular account top-ups.

Both Tabcorp and Tattsbet pay out same day and I doubt there's a safer book than these anywhere in the world. They won't accept US residents for sports betting but I think Tabcorp at least will take racing bets from them?

Yes, the TABs grew up with local racing as their only product and to this day remain somewhat racing oriented. As a result they didn't need to stay open after the last race for the day and didn't open until about 9 am. Things are improving with the addition of international racing and sports but they still aren't 24 hour operations which can certainly be a drawback if looking to bet on US sports.

The books you mentioned are now all heavily into limiting on sports at least. I don't bother with IAS or Sportingbet any more and use Luxbet only for racing. Betstar isn't much better. My prime books are Betfair, Waterhouse and Topsport for racing. Topsport and Betchoice along with Tabcorp still give me a fair go on sports but the others are crap.

Garbage lines but slow moving and honour bad lines where most would cancel.

Not being able to bet overnight is garbage though.

TAB here has a monopoly over the market. they do not care about offering poor options or juiced lines. Most people do not know any better.

Never touched the horses except for Melbourne Cup.

Betchoice is still good for me because they allow me to bet bigger stakes than all the major players now do.

No, Topsport is one of the little gems which not too many know about. I haven't seen them advertise but I do find them good for competitive odds on the footy codes in particular as well as offering best of the 3 totes on all race meetings.

several of the smaller books do shut down for the night and don't offer any service

the TABs close down late at night but depending on what major interest sports are on do sometimes stay open until well into the early hours

Didn't realise NZ Tab were into limiting, quite disappointing, Id be motivated to start walking down to the shop and laying bets just to spite them..

Their odds aren't that bad, you can often find good prices on tennis dogs and if your into rugby betting they are one of the better options once Will Hill and 365 toss you to the curve, pinnacle with rugby is bloody terrible $300 limits on most northern competitions, I only wish the TABs would get over their aversion to League and union totals
