I am probably backing Uruguay DNB if i am right about public perception. Its a " Ronaldo thing ", that creates crazy lines. Its a team game and i think Uruguay are the more polished side right now. Willing to sprinkle moneyline as well , if the price is right.

Spain will pound Russia imo. Would love to see a decent price at -1. May consider - 1.5. Not really impressed with Spain to date, but they are a HUGE step above Russia and its crunch time.

They really arent that good. They showed some serious emotion and desire against Saudi Arabia ( cameo appearances for key players of Saudi ). Beat Egypt with plenty of mistakes made by their back 4. Today they were exactly the team that everyone thought they were coming into this World Cup ......1 win in 10 games and looking horrible. I will take my chances with the depth of Spain to expose them for the average team they are. Desire cant replace talent. ( And coach Hererro should replace Costa with Aspach ).

The first pick that comes to my mind in Portugal vs Uruguay is both teams to score. Portugal's backline haven't fully convinced me yet in this tournament. At times they look really shaky, especially during corners and free-kicks.
Uruguay as we know is really dangerous when it comes to set-pieces with Cavani and Godin. Suarez also converted a free-kick today vs Russia.

Uruguay has a strong defense, not allowed a single goal in their group stages but with Ronaldo and maybe 2-3 others good players for Portugal who can be a goal threat against Uruguay, I can see Portugal to find the back of the net in this matchup as well.

First thought for the matchup.

I think the Spain line drop will faster than the Uruguay line since most of the tipster, sports bettors and the public will say this: Russia beat two easy opponents easily (Egypt and Saudia Arabia) but when it comes to the better teams (like Uruguay) they can't keep up with them. Spain is a level above Uruguay to most people, so I think fading Russia will reflect in the line dropping quicker.

Uruguay is tougher bc Portugal is the Euro Champion 2016 and they have Ronaldo on their squad,plus the draw vs Iran came through a penalty, think some people will have this in mind, Spain barely beat Iran 1:0 so Iran is a though opponent bc they defend till the last minute.

uruguay have given up 0 goals so can't rule out 1-0 or 2-0 win portugal scored 3 in the 1st game haven't been lighting it up since then i just favor uruguay to advance much more all around team

I just wait for Suarez to do something stupid like in every World Cup he is involved in. Now with the VAR he could be a liabilty for Uruguay in case he does something stupid again because this time they can look it up on the video review. Will be interesting to see if something really happens this time

This knockout stage is shaping up to be very intriguing

Teams like brazil and Columbia are loaded with talent and appear to be making strides in developing chemistry and familiarity

Others like Uruguay, france and Spain alrdy know theor formula and are waiting for the tourney to rly start before they put forth their best effort

Last year's darling dark horse Belgium has come out and picked up where the hype left off 4 yrs ago. It'll be interesting to see if they have enough coal left in their reserves to get all the way or not

And of course the defending and perhaps greatest storied country ever in terms of world cup success saved by a set piece and a thread in the waning moments of the group stage. Are they awake and focused now?

I hope we see a true dog like Senegal make it and play a little more focused and disciplined so that make a deep run
