    was indeed watching the Spanish broadcast, turned off the tv after I saw Benzema celebrating thinking it was over. Great feeling once I checked my 5dimes account later and saw that I had won the wager.

    In soccer? Pretty sure on field ref has some leeway in blowing that whistle. It's not like it always stops right at 93:00 here. So you can watch clock all you want but it's the ref who has final say there.

    I would have thrown something at tv but was luckily not close enough to remote and heard announcers say pretty quickly it didn't count. Didn't have grand on it but did have enough to have been pissed for a bit!!

    I agree. I was responding to poster who said just watch the clock. The clock isn't what determines end of game. Ref is.
