I wanted to find a decent wager backing Spain today being they are my favorite team to watch but given their recent play I cannot in good faith put in a play on them. I am looking over the card still but I'm leaning on a France handicap and I also think it to be a low scoring affair.

I agree with this. When Spain is playing a decent or good opposition in the last 2 tournament ko stage, their matches always end with a goal win for victory. The only time they win by more than 2 goals was against Russia.

    Spain
    Euro 08
    v Italy - drew 0-0
    v Russia - won 3-0
    v Germany - won 1-0

    WC 10
    v Portugal - won 1-0
    v Germany - won - 1-0
    v Holland - drew 0-0

France isn't patient enough to beat Spain here. Spain could roll here if they score early forcing France to open up and get exposed in the midfield....Spain -265 to advance book it

Is the team from Euro 08 playing today? Or is the team from WC 2010 playing today? Nope, so these types of stats do not matter much in my opinion. The players who were on these teams have matured or progressed and new players have filled in as well. EURO 2008 and WC 2010 both featured in-form strikers in Torres and Villa.... so the team played with a true #9, which is not how they are playing now.

Firstly, the core of the team like Xavi, Alonso, Iniesta and etc are still in the 1st XI. Secondly, their style of play has not changed much, still a possession-oriented team or tika-tika. Thirdly, Torres is likely to start today, so they are still playing with a true #9. Lastly, if they don't play Torres today, wouldn't the under goals be a better bet? We seen how they struggled when they played Italy without width and a true striker.

I don't get your comment. Be more specific. I can understand if you don't like the juice plays but it seems to me you are making a dumb comment then covering it up in the end with the " even if they win crap"

I don't know about France not because of a lack of talent but based on the bickering going on in that locker room again. History says this is divisive for a team like this as opposed to a unifying factor. Shades of S. Africa all over again. I have Spain to advance in a parlay. See what happens.

They're not that bad. Some are good plays that you can parlay with others. Others you can play straight up...

Regardless I agree with France being the side to take in this game.

Spain will obviously control possession but they can be frustrated as shown by Italy and Croatia. Force them back to midfield to reset and they become less of a threat. France has the quality to counter properly and give Spain problems.

It's not that spain scored, you are always betting on them not running hot which they easily can.
It's playing with fire, this is the best team and everyone who thinks otherwise has no clue about soccer.

Seriously, who are these handicappers? Spain dominating. France might get lucky and equalize, but the odds are against it. I see Spain 3-0, 3-1, or 2-0.

I have Spain before the game -130. Thinking about going 2H over 1 -160 so I can double win or push if somehow France gets lucky and they draw. Thoughts?

Can't believe that stupid retard Laurent Blanc benched Samir Nasri

Your bet is dead with Nasri on the bench

Him and ribery control the middle

Actually I think Nasri is not that great but he will come in when spain defense is tiring. Ribery has been pretty sharp so far.

Nasri is France's 2nd best player after Ribery. There is no ball possesion without Nasri on the field.

Nasri is the second most talented for sure but he makes too many mental mistakes. Gives the ball away a lot but at this point France needs him because Spain is in complete control.

I don't know why you always look at history when this is one of the worst french teams of the last 20 yrs and easily the best spanish team of the last 20 yrs.

Looks like you're gonna break about even for the game, I know Spain was the more talented team but expected a better effort from France.
