Like I said, no Mitchell no chance. Utah has so many players that can shoot them out of the game. These guys think they're the old warriors.

Mitchell hasn't played basketball in months. I don't know what he's gonna look like. This can be a tough series. Memphis is not a joke. They are a tough defensive team, and they force a lot of turnovers and 50-50 balls. They are scrappy, very similar to the old memphis team that knocked out the Spurs when they were the 1 seed.

If Mitchell comes back and is healthy, Utah will win. Utah doesn't have very many good players imo. Jordan Clarkson is not a good player, he comes into the game and takes 15 shots in 15 minutes. Bogdonovic is hit or miss, ingles is hit or miss. Gobert is a bum on offense. He can't score. He has no moves.

But they've build up some good habits over the year.

The one thing about Utah, is their confidence has never really been tested. Like sure, they go on these runs where they rain 3s and blow teams out, but if they're in the 2nd round against the Clippers say, and down 2-1 in the series in a critical game 4, and they gonna shoot those 3s with confidence or are they gonna melt down?

Just Clarkson. He is inconsistent as hell and I've seen him drop nearly 40 with similar usage. This game was just the morono effect

No of course not. It's the first game. So many times dogs win game 1 and most don't even win another game in the series.

Remember when the Grizzlies smacked around Duncan Parker and Manu 10 years ago when Spurs were the 1 seed and Grizz were the 8? Everyone thought Spurs were gonna easily win the west that year.

Jazz were up 13 very early this game then morono effect kicked in. Shouldn't be hard to bounce back even without Mitchell.

No one thinks the jazz were gonna easily win the West this season. I don't look much into these first game wins. They mean nothing unless the losing team loses a key player to injury. Most of the dogs have been playing well in the first game. The better team slowly takes over and imposes there will over the course of a series.

Lakers lost game 1 to Portland last season. They won next 4 and won the chip.

Season before that Tor lost game 1 to the magic and won next 4 and the chip.

The Memphis team you mentioned from the past had seasoned players with pedigree. OJ Mayo, Tony Allen, Mike Conley, Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph.

Yeah I don't care about game 1s either, but think this can be a tough series if Mitchell is not gonna be healthy. We have to wait to see what he looks like. He's the best player on the court for either team.

True they had some pedigree, but Conley and Gasol and Mayo were still pretty young, probably 4th year players at that time. Allen and Randolph were more seasoned vets. This memphis team has similar dna, but I think they are not potent enough offensively to do any real damage long term.

Jazz only led this game for like 5 minutes. Grizzlies dominated them for 40 out of 48 minutes. There's no morino effect. Plenty of morinos have come and gone from sbr in our years here. I just focus on my own picks.

Grizzlies were the play but they could of been down like 26, were down 14 with Utah missing every 3.

So Grizzlies are supposed to miss shots, and Jazz are supposed to make them, is that what you're saying? This is the NBA, guys play defense in the playoffs and you're not always gonna hit your 3s. Especially not a team like the Jazz. This isn't KDs warriors. Do you expect Niang and CLarkson, two losers, to make all the 3s they chuck up? This isn't the regular season. Jazz roster is full of scrubs who can brick at any moment. They're waiting for their savior Mitchell to come save them as usual.

Spurs were not a very big favorite in 2011 though. Even though it is looked at a little different historically since they reached two finals afterwards they were considered washed up were barely a -300 favorite.
