I feel like all this stimulus took away some good potential trading opportunities created by our little black swan.

If traders didn't get in in April, not sure we'll get another chance anymore.

I used to think reality would set in, the economy would get reflected in the markets (at least to a degree), but with all the stimulus I think reality may be more sideway when it hits, instead of another crash.

Yea I am in that boat myself. I’ve done okay myself but it moved too quickly for most individual investors to benefit much.


But I agree there is too much money behind this and another situation like the last cycle. Yet more pronounced, meaning—-Not much returns to be had in fixed income, for years probably, and investors are forced to take to more risk—stocks—to hit return targets. This combined with the collective lesson learned in the last cycle, “don’t fight the Fed”, yes, we are likely rangebound unless we go to war or something.

If we get a large scale shutdown again, we might see some more significant downside, but who knows if that will happen. Odds are it will just be select areas. And if it does, I am afraid the S&P will be supported by way of more consolidation to tech.

So to see flat lining in Fla., Tx., Az., and Cal. even if all rules were followed will take 4-6 months. Rules will not be followed in the 3 red states becausae their ignoring ones even today. They have Governors with no spines. The medical community says summer is usually slow months for viruses to expand and the cooler months like Oct., Nov., and Dec. could get even worse again. Even if a vaccine is found in the next 4-6 months, their will be issues with distribution. If China comes up with one, do we get any? How about Germany? How about the UK? Trump has insulted so many world leaders, will we share? I've heard this may even be a 2 shot vaccine. Take one today then another one in 3 months. It will be many many months before any sign of stability returns to the U.S. jmo...
