    I can't believe I'm gonna say it.

    Rickie Fowler

I think Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa, and Gary Woodland are early looks. I won't buy for a day or two, let's see who drops out first.

Justin Thomas will win. Xander and Cantlay have outside chance.

Think I will make a big bet on JT, seems like a perfect course for him.

Morikawa has been declining the last few weeks, I'd need 50 to 1 odds to consider it. Same thing with Rickie.

The other 2 are worth a look for sure, still think this is the tournament JT wins.

    Favorite I’ll go with Schauffele.
Long shot, give me Brendan Steele at 125-1.

He is probably the worst putter in the field and his ball striking has fallen apart the last 2 tourneys.

I agree if he finds his ball striking again he can contend but seems to be in a slump.

Schauffele fits this court well I think. I'll pass on Steele, don't trust him around the water.

You know he will be in contention next week haha. Par 5 scoring a key stat on this course as well as sand saves and he is great at both.

When it's all said and done Gold, a bettor may only be as good as his last bet. My last bets won.

I've been winning weekly Gold, all posted, and have done a pretty good job of constructing the Sunday leaderboard in this 2019-2020 season. If only you could see my PGA futures spreadsheet, color coded and all.

    lol.

If you've followed along in just one thread, even over the span of years for repeated examples, you'd know I have taught some PGA by example and you'd know the answer to your post.

There have been some moments because it's not what they bring, it's how they bring it...

He sure has been priming. He was one of my picks last week. Often I pick golfers in pairs with the intent to get one them high on the leaderboard come Sunday.

I have Rose and Hovland as one of those pairs.

For those who are breaking down golfers and the course there are a few things to know that I've uncovered in my office.

This course is going to be used for two straight weeks for the PGA Tour, which may be the first time there are official PGA tour events on the same course back to back. This week’s tournament is probably just for this year, while next week’s Memorial Tournament is the regular event.

Because of this they are making some changes to the course for this week. The 8th, 11th, and 15th holes have all been extended for this week. The rough this week will be a little shorter than next week’s Memorial and the greens are set to be slower as well.

The Memorial traditionally has a tournament stimpmeter that went up to 13 feet but to accommodate the PGA pin position desires over the two week stretch it will be more like 11 feet this week.

To mix it up, the PGA is looking for 8 distinct pin positions on each hole over the two weeks. For some positions, the greens have to be slower so this week there will be “creative” pin positions, ones the players haven’t seen before, and next week for the Memorial there will be “traditional” pin positions.

The slower green in the first week also helps to preserve the greens over the two week stint but it sounds like the bigger reason is for the wild pin positions this week. There are some undulations in those greens so it will be interesting to see this week’s pin positions.

To expand on that putting green info there's some analysis from my desk...

So I set ratings for each golfer based on skills, strokes gained, etc and where they are relative to the field and even normalized for the courses when possible.

Patrick Cantlay stands out when it comes to putting and strokes gained not only on the season but also when I apply a recency bias, which in this case is since the return from the shutdown, he continues to stand out, along with Koepka and Woodland.

Cantlay loves this course and won the Memorial last year. He could be a good candidate for a top 5, 10 or even 20 finish.

    Outright Card:

    Gary Woodland 55-1
    Matthew Fitzpatrick 60-1
    Joel Dahmen 90-1
    Adam Long 200-1
    Sung Kang 275-1
    Keith Mitchell 350-1

Hoping Schauffeles odds drop 18-1 is not ideal. Value on Patrick Reed. I can get him 35-1. Guy wins tournaments and shouldn’t be priced 35-1.

    norlander +1300

    taking both straka and norlander

    160 straka to win 1760
    140 norlander to win 1820

both players coming off good results last weeks tourny t8 t12

rahm last 2 starts not impressive only find 1 time playing this course few years back missed cut
hovland has played 4 weeks in a row hopefully fatigue factor
rory sab -ehh if he beats me he beats me

    straka and norlander let's go
