How hard would it be to get your Birth Certificate and SS Card?

I misplaced mine and can't find it. Is it a long process to get a copy of it?

Have to go to your local social security office to get a new SS card and I believe you need to go to the health department to get a new copy of your birth certificate.

I had someone appear on my CHEX Systems report with a name different than mine. That's where everything is reported according to bad checks. I had to go to the local Social Security office to get them to verify my Social Security Number with CHEX Systems even though they were the ones that made the mistake.

As far as birth certificate goes, I was born in a rural county in the middle of nowhere. I simply sent them an email and they told me how much it would cost to get an original. I sent them a letter with a check and they sent me a copy of my birth certificate.

You could probably get someone to forge one for you.

No sweat man, just tell them your name is Obama and you were born in Kenya and you will be in like flynn and have it made in the shade.Even his relatives are here as known illegals in Boston living off the tax payer. It's the wheel of fortune for some and the wheel of missfortune for others so if you ain't the right kind of person and you are SOL making headway for as little as retrieving your SSN '' socialist slave number''just allign yourself with a left wing socialist democrat group.

    Rush, Jr.:

    Stick to the damn topic.

OP: It could take up to 6-8 weeks for the things to get to you.

not sure how to get a birth certificate but you just go to the social security office with little more than an I.D. and they mail it to you like 10 days later or something. might want to call them first and find out exactly what you'd need to bring.

Birth certificate is easy, just go to city hall where you were born (big cities have online access) and pay the 15-25 for an official copy. The ss card is a little harder, but still easy. Find the nearest office and go in, fill out a lost card affidavit, produce id (maybe two forms are required, could use your new birth certificate) and bingo.
