We can all finally sleep knowing that the man was found....now they can move onto all the other violent murders they need to solve for "normal" people

As thugs go, I think Tupac exemplified a thug evolving into a knowing/insightful man.
As far as I'm concerned, he was a gifted writer, actor and recordng artist.

From a lowly birth in NYC, Topac had nowhere to go but up.
Considering his lowly start in life you cannot say that his success was not unexpected and meteoric.

"Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside while still alive.Never surrender."

    ---
Shakur lived from an early age with people who were convicted of serious criminal offences and who were imprisoned. His godfather, Elmer "Geronimo" Pratt, a high ranking Black Panther, was convicted of murdering a school teacher during a 1968 robbery, although his sentence was later overturned. His stepfather, Mutulu, spent four years at large on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list beginning in 1982. Mutulu was wanted for having helped his sister Assata Shakur (also known as Joanne Chesimard) to escape from a penitentiary in New Jersey. She had been imprisoned for killing a state trooper in 1973. Mutulu was caught in 1986 and imprisoned for the robbery of a Brinks armored truck in which two police officers and a guard were killed. Shakur had a half-sister, Sekyiwa, two years his junior, and an older stepbrother, Mopreme "Komani" Shakur, who appeared in many of his recordings.

At the age of twelve, Shakur enrolled in Harlem's 127th Street Repertory Ensemble and was cast as the Travis Younger character in the play A Raisin in the Sun, which was performed at the Apollo Theater. In 1986, the family relocated to Baltimore, Maryland. After completing his second year at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, he transferred to the Baltimore School for the Arts, where he studied acting, poetry, jazz, and ballet. He performed in Shakespeare plays, and in the role of the Mouse King in the ballet The Nutcracker. Shakur, accompanied by one of his friends, Dana "Mouse" Smith, as his beatbox, won many rap competitions and was considered to be the best rapper in his school. He was remembered as one of the most popular kids in his school because of his sense of humor, superior rapping skills, and ability to mix with all crowds.

^ Tupac was involved with gangs and thugs and that's why he got shot and killed. That's the way I see it. He was not the MLK of the rap world. I'd bet on that.

He got blasted and killed deliberately by a thug and for a reason. He was a loud mouth...

    Thug Life

The test pressing single for "Dear Mama": the Platinum single is among the top-ranked songs in hip-hop history. In late 1993, Shakur formed the group Thug Life with Tyrus "Big Syke" Himes, Diron "Macadoshis" Rivers, his stepbrother Mopreme Shakur, and Walter "Rated R" Burns.[69] Thug Life released its only album, Thug Life, Volume I, on October 11, 1994, which is certified Gold. It carries the single "Pour Out a Little Liquor", produced by Johnny "J" Jackson, who would also produce much of Shakur's album All Eyez on Me. Usually, Thug Life performed live without Tupac.[70]
The track also appears on the 1994 film Above the Rim's soundtrack. Due to gangsta rap being under heavy criticism at the time, the album's original version was scrapped, and the album redone with mostly new tracks. Still, along with Stretch, Tupac would perform the first planned single, "Out on Bail", which was never released, at the 1994 Source Awards.[71][unreliable source?]

Jibbby - you obviously have no clue about Tupac. He was VERY, VERY far from a gang banger thug. Dude worked his ass off in the studio, movies, theater and concert gigs. You ever hear of 6 degrees of separation? I was in the same circles. I had several music producer friends. I also knew several up and coming boxing promotors in addition to King and Arum. I also helped a friend win the contract for BET Comic View. He knew everyone in black entertainment, so I was in all those circles. I used to see Tupac ALL the time when we both lived in Hollywood. I also had a condo in Woodland Hills and him, Dr. Dre and Snoop had a gym next door, where they would work out. It was called the Dawg Pound. Snoop invited me on a yacht he rented for his wedding reception to talk business (really, you want to talk business on your wedding day? Snoop. Absofukinglutely). I've been to Dre's old house and studio not far from there in Calabasas (not far from where Kobe Bryant helicopter crashed). Those guys were all about the money, all about business.

Tupac just caught up in the stupid fantasy east coast, west coast rapper beef. He grew up East Coast. His mistake was hanging with Suge Knight... He was a straight up gangster and Tupac really died by associating with him. I could tell you a lot of shit about Suge. I was good friends with his assistant (she always wanted to date me). Now he was a blood thug but he took care of a lot of people. ** Hammer was good friends with Tupac, joined Suge's label when his career was fading and was with Tupac the night he died. When Hammer got in financial trouble, Suge dropped $400k (might have been $500k I can't remember) on his doorstep. How do I know? His assistant dropped it off. Deathrow/ Suge started his business out of his house. They were selling so many records from the streets. Suge made over a billion dollars easily without going through record companies. Those folks in charge did not like that. I knew several people in ASCAP that track record sales. They have a huge tower in Hollywood on Sunset.

Tupac joined Deathrow just like Hammer... because of the money. I think it was the Tyson/ Bruce Seldon fight. I used to go to all Tyson fights. I was playing craps at MGM when Tupac got in the fight that night. The casino cleared out with a quickness. I was watching Joe Torry (black comedian, he was boring and drunk) perform after the fight when I heard Tupac and Suge got shot. My first thought was that someone was trying to kill Suge. He just got grazed.

A few months before Tupac got shot, I saw him at Universal Studios. I went up to him and dapped him and we talked for a minute. I walked away and a friend of mine who was an event promotor pulled me aside and said to me to not get so close to Tupac in public because folks were out for him. I remember thinking, why wouldn't he have a bodyguard or something at the time. Sad. ^ True stories bro.

I studied about Geronimo Pratt and Huey Newton. Incredible stories of men who were caught up in that period of civil rights activist. If you really read up about their lives, you can understand what prompted them. Pratt served 2 tours in Vietnam, studied at UCLA where he joined the Black Panthers. He was no dummy. He proved that the US government killed his 2 friends who recruited him in the Panthers. His wife was killed supposedly by Newton but the FBI planted that lie. I can't imagine what some of those guys had to go through at that time but more really should be studied not discarded.

Tupac was bad news. Just like NWA back in the day. Put policemen at risk and targets with their hate police lyrics. Glorified the gangsta life.

I did like the NWA songs though back in the day I can't like. As a music man I did appreciate the original beats in those gangster rap songs.

    Never a Tupac lover.

Blast em all and rest in peace I say. Dr Dre, Ice Cube, etc. They all have hell to pay for what they did. They can all catch up with Easy E and Tupac down there.

Not weird at all. Totally true. I’ve said many times before I was “almost famous”. Certainly caught up in Hollywood life. The circles there are very small.
