NBA Players who want to defund the Police want more Protection at Stadiums

Just like some of these idiots on the left like the Minneapolis City Council who used tax payer money to pay for private security after defunding the police.

Most of these left wing leaders who publicly call for defending the police are the first to call the police when their security is threatened, and most of them live in safe neighborhoods that aren’t part of the crime wave we are seeing nationally.

Defunding the police is dumb and it hurts poor communities the most, many of them largely black and Hispanic.

The same NBA players who publicly support far left wing groups like Black Lives Matter and want to defund the police are the first to ask for an increased police presence when their security is at risk.

The same players who want more protection from popcorn and water bottles are calling to defund the police in neighborhoods where shootings are occurring nearly everyday.

They are all attention whores. They know damn well they don’t want to step out with all that Ice on and all that Drip without protection. They will end up like that kid from the Rockets this year. I remember a couple years back a dude from the Raiders was at a Vegas strip club and ended up in an alley unconscious and got jacked for his chain.

Agree, and the media never calls them on anything because they like their left wing propaganda.

They won’t ever mention gang violence or whenever an innocent person gets killed in crossfire from drive by shootings. They won’t burn down a stop sign. But some idiot wanted on a felony warrant for a sex crime resists police and tried to fight 5 of them and won’t stop even when they are pointing guns at him, well let’s burn down the city and delay a basketball game for a few days. Straight up clown shoes.

You do realize that defund the police doesn’t mean not having police at all right? You are a lawyer so you should know this
The idea of defund the police is to take the over spending year in and year out that is wasted in many police forces. The extra spending on militarized weapons, brand new cruisers every other year, the exorbitant amount of wasted overtime pay and reallocate some of the overspending to job training, violence prevention programs, etc.
It does not mean to not have police officers. It means to actually have a budget and make it not wasteful. In the US we waste so much money on retroactive measures never proactive measures. We respond late to everything.
Looking at what your saying and how you are using the idea of protection as some sort of hypocritical statement that people who asked for this reallocation should not have protection is mindless.
That would be like if you don’t get the vaccine and then get a bad case of covid that cause you real health issues requiring hospitalization. Should they turn you away because you didn’t take precautions before hand?

Throw ABC announcer Mark Jones in with this. He claimed he was scared for his life while getting a police escort around the arenas - Scared of what the police might do to him! Somehow this jackass got a promotion while Grant Napier got fired for saying "All lives matter"...

First, learn to use paragraphs, this was incoherent and looks like a 4 year old wrote it.

Second, your claim that in the US we overspend on law enforcement is a dumb argument. Police are underpaid in almost every major city, they risk their lives daily for less than 60k a year in most cities.

Third, their is no link between the issues you bring up and police funding. The United States has a 2 trillion dollar budget every year guy, we don’t need to defund anything, and the idea that we would defund the police in the middle of a crime wave is one of the dumbest arguments I have ever heard.

On every city where defunding the police occurred crime rose, and crime rose disproportionately in poor and minority communities. Most recently we saw this on Detroit.

The whole premise of your dumb argument is absurd. This country spends over 16k a year educating poor kids, if people choose a life a crime it’s because they made a bad decision, not because programs like Jon training didn’t exist. Anyone on the US can work hard, go to college, and get ahead, we don’t need to take money away from law enforcement in the middle of a crime wave and an ongoing pandemic to fund dumb social programs that already exist anyways.

    Do more research next time.

He is a left wing hack, he was calling the protest at the capital an insurrection like cnn and the left wing networks the day the protest occurred.

It was not an insurrection and no one at the capital has been charged using the insurrection act.

First off I’m not writing a paper I’m just jotting stuff from my phone relax on the grammar police.
Second just about everything you just stated is actually wrong. I’m only going to do this once because I know you like to move the argument to a different area once you realize your wrong so here goes....
    1. Police budget consists of much more than payroll. Because they choose to not use the budget to allocating better pay for police is each areas decision on how they use the money. They tend to waste it on other stuff. If the argument was “hey all our overspending goes to salaries because police are underpaid” then that would be a fair argument but they don’t.
A simple way to check this is by looking up a towns financial statements, seeing how much was allocated to police services, then looking at the budget proposal and whatever budget got approved that year and breaking down what the expensive go to. Then see how often those budgets are overspent on non salary items. I’ve done the work behind this maybe you should take some time to do the same.
    2. This one is the biggest....you compared police which is mostly funded by local governments to a two trillion dollar federal budget. I’m really hoping you don’t think that police departments are funded by the federal government as the main source because that would make me sad for you. Also to your statement that was built on flawed reasoning, I again did not say to not fund the police, I said to manage the budget properly and not waste spending. There’s money that isn’t utilized properly there and once you do the research you will see. So a lot of your points you made above are mute because you are talking about me saying to but the police force I’m saying utilize the wasteful spending better. It’s two totally different arguments but since you think the federal government funds all police I can see where you got confused.
    3. Your education comment is so far off it hurts. There are some school districts that don’t teach reading, writing and math skills at the same level as a normal school. What a kid in a suburban school would learn in third grade would be something that a inner city kid might not learn to 2-3 years later. This isn’t a child’s decision and if you don’t educate children then what is their recourse? It’s to emulate what they’ve seen in the inner city. If you don’t give them the resources to show they can be productive members of society then they won’t be. Not everyone can “work hard, go to college and get ahead” and that thought process is deranged.
It’s so shortsighted it’s mind boggling. I could go on forever about how wrong that statement is but your comment is such a privileged and naive comment that honestly you won’t see it if you didn’t know someone that did those things and still didn’t get the opportunities that you think are there for them or it didn’t happen to you personally.

No, that’s not the way the system works.

Most cities because they are run by democrats and the left broke and have huge deficits, they are only able to finance their institutions because of the municipal bond market which is backed by the fed and the federal government.

You missed the bigger point thigh also. This country has largely unlimited resources, so the idea that we would defund the police in the middle of a pandemic and major crime wave isn’t just dumb, it’s extremely dumb.

Again, it’s not hard to use paragraphs, this is very hard to read.

One of the problems with having a discussion with people on the left like you is you people are generally very ignorant when it comes to basic facts.

A simple example here is your obviously incorrect statements about the education system. The department of education shows that we spend about 14k on white kids and 16k on black kids education. Their are more resources to spend on black kids in general since they tend to live in more urban areas, while the huge kids tend to live in more rural areas with commercial real estate and other assets that can be taxed as much.

This country spends more money educating black kids than white kids but their is still a significant achievement gap between white and black kids because 80 percent of black kids grow up without father in broken homes, and the inner city school system in most cities is trash because democrats and the teachers union have destroyed the system.

Again, the issue is not resources or the need to divert or defund anything, the issue is the complete incompetence of democratic governor and mayors in making institutions work for middle and low income families, many of which are black and Hispanic.

In a country as wealthy as the US you don’t defund the police, and you certainly don’t defund the police in the middle of an ongoing pandemic and crime wave.

Again, this country spends far more money educating poor kids in the inner city than it does on white mods in rural areas, department of education statistics show this every year.

It’s not a resource issue. The problem is that 80 percent of black kids come from broken homes and the inner city school system is trash despite being overfunded because the left, unions and politicians, have run the system into the ground.

One good example of this is comparing the catholic school system in Chicago to the public school system in Chicago. The catholic school system is one of the best school systems in the US, the public school system in Chicago is ranked 4th worst in the nation.

The public school system gets more money per student than the catholic school system. Again, the issue isn’t resources, the issue is competence and family structure.

Adam Silver is the worst commissioner in sports by far. The NBA is a monopoly and he still can’t run it right. The 1 and done rule is horrible, super teams have hurt the competitive balance of the league significantly, and he never stands up to Levine or any of the players even when Lebron called for violence against a cop who actually saved someone’s life.

Exactly, if he didn't he wouldn't be in that position to long. (On his knees)

The guy is so damn uneducated it is sickening. He is worse than Ron Artest claiming to be a “tru warier” yes, that’s how he spelled it. Guy is worth in excess of 765 million and acts so oppressed. Him, D wade and Shaq could all pitch in and wipeout poverty in the black communities and still have generational wealth leftover.
