    Lost my dog last night

17 year old German Shep/Rottweiler mix. His health was declining the last year & a half. Doctors thought he wouldnt make it through the night 2.5 months ago but he kept fighting. Just kept getting thinner & thinner. Had a rough week this week & never woke up from a seizure. He fought through every health obstacle in his path but his body wasn't strong enough to keep fighting. The majority of the last 8 years my life revolved around him. To me he was perfect.
Nothing like kissing his angel nose of a lick on the chin from him. Even though he was sick he looked young & handsome + the oddest thing is even if he hadn't had a bath in months he smelled like honeysuckle. So happy to work at home & spend every minute with him. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I am sorry to hear. Dogs are amazing creatures. They love you no matter how you look or the money you have and will do anything for you. We should all be so lucky to have a great dog in our lives like you did.

My girlfriend ask him for a sign & two cardinals flew by in unison a second later....inside the kitchen about 30 minutes ago we both heard his bark. It was the tired bark he had of late but it was distinct. Thanks man.
I know how hard it is too. Would rather give my left arm.

Tough, long life though, 17 years for Sheppard mix bread is solid!! My best friend had a Sheppard and it was super healthy and only lived 15 years.. Always a killer when dogs pass on..

Main reason I haven't gotten a dog in recent years is because of their short life expectancy.. Breaks your heart.. I grew up with dogs..

Sad to hear, it's very hard losing your canine companion especially one that's been with you for so long. Think of the good times, grieve for a time and eventually you'll be ready for a new puppy and start the whole process over again. With animals we get to raise them as babies through adulthood into old age and death and all over again. The full circle of life.

you are doing them a disservice by leaving them in the fukkin pound

Rescue dogs are the very best..
They know exactly what you are doing when you take them out of that environment and give them a loving home..
Unconditional love and loyalty until the very end..

    great point

if i ever get money im turning the driving range into a rescue shelter

if golfers hate the barking and not being able to warm up, they can go fukk themselves

would not save a cat though

Sorry Cinci... lost mine back in late 2014. was painful to watch with the seizures and all towards the end. painful watching someone suffer and not being able to help them besides taking them to the vet. Just a sad part of life I've come to accept we have to deal with. Take care man.
