    Testosterone use

A month or so ago someone wrote an article about the use of testosterone to help libido and just as a supplement to help with a feeling of well being.

I prescribe to a bunch of health letters from reputable organizations and I just received March issue from the Cleveland Clinic one of our best hospitals for heart health. It is short so I will type the entire paragraph and not worry about copyright.

MOST MEN CONTINUE TAKING TESTOSTERONE DESPITE KNOWN HEART DANGER

"supplemental testosterone use by men with age-related testosterone deficiency may increase the risk of heart attack and stroke without improving symptoms. Despite these dangers, a study published online Dec 28, 2018 in JAMA internal medicine found that men with coronary disease (CAD) are continuing to use testosterone "off label" and that is an unapproved fashion.'

I won't type the rest of the article since you can research it yourself in JAMA online. If you suffer from any type of coronary problems you probably should think twice about using that gel or pill or patch off label. Even if your pcp gives it to you. Or check out the stats for yourself. You must be your own advocate, you must do your own research.

Dante1 are you asking a question or just making a statement?

They have to put the "danger" out there because most people who are on TRT are measuring and injecting on their own... without a doctor's prescription and/or guidance. Naturally, these people aren't trained/certified.

It's actually dangerous to be low on testosterone.... it especially effects brain function. Which in my opinion can and will lead to dementia.

I am simply stating what was written in the latest Cleveland Clinic medical letter. Yes, low testosterone can be dangerous however when a man reaches a certain age his testosterone level is not that critical unless there are underlying other conditions. some of these older guys with heart problems are taking testosterone via patch, gel or orally and it is not a great idea if you have an underlying heart issue.

I was on it, the gel and it works, CC concern is not to use it off label if you are up in age and have a heart problem. Some doctors are prescribing it off label.--not good.

There are a lot of good websites to study possible Low T. Website called T Nation is pretty good. I'm sure you've probably heard of it.

Education is the key... and filtering out the BS.

One way indicating you are low on Test.... if you've been in the gym most of your life.... 15 years+ and you notice that you can't lift as much... you're not building.... and your recovery time is 48-72 hours after each workout session. I can tell you right now... that individual is low on T without blood work.

If you suffer from constant mental fatigue.... a loss of words.... things just don't flow like they normally do.... another reason to get T levels checked.

IMO... from my research.... typical TRT dosages shouldn't effect the heart negatively. It should actually be beneficial. You do need cardio.... you shouldn't just pump iron without cardio.

Again... they are a lot of variables that can happen within the blood on Test. I totally understand that.... and that's why it should be with doctor's supervision. But, I just hate seeing "warning" labels... scaring people out of doing it.

I look at it this way....

    1. If you already feel like sh#$.... and you were never on Test... at least try it. It couldn't hurt.

    2. It's like your living in your own prison... not doing anything about it. It's almost like you're dead anyways.

So what are we suppose to say to ourselves? It's life? It's a part of aging? It's destiny?

I'd rather take life by the horns.... and do something about it... before it's too late... and you can't reverse the process.

I agree... everyone wants to try the pharmaceutical grade sh#$. You can't trust these people on amazon or ebay.

For example... the HCG craze for women.... (used as a diet supplement)

There's BS products on ebay and amazon... you need the pharmaceutical grade stuff.

I feel like I've spent 60 hours thus far on continuous research.

paragraph 3 is exactly what happened to me, I ran, and weight trained and the out of the clear I could no longer work with the weight I usually worked with, a 35 lb dumbbell felt like it was 65 lbs. I attributed it to age and ignored it, lowered my weights and went on. Then, I started feeling really lousy the day after a workout or a run. I thought WTF. I was getting weaker and a modest run of a few miles would have me sick the next day--something wasn't right.

saw a ton of specialists and no real answers, so I started educating myself and believe it or not I found my problem, brought it to me pcp and he said I think this is it. Had a muscle biopsy and I had the beginning of a very rare muscle problem caused by an autoimmune immune disease. not fatal, treated with prednisone but that started a whole other banquet of problems.

when I was younger and I had no real serious heart problems I did use a gel for a very minor low T, I believe it helped, I know it helped. but you should be seen by a doctor that deals with low T and not just your pcp. My opinion only.
