KVB, i think energy is allways a safe bet but why you dont do the passive investment strategy ?

Buy an good index with some price reduction. Like SP500 the next time it goes down like 20%.

In the mean time you could buy some bonds just for not getting eaten by inflation. The plus is that Bonds will be higher the moment the stocks go down. Its a win/win situation for "passive" investment strategy.

ishares by blackrock has some good ETFs.

You could go for ETFs in energy.

I am allocating money different ways and some will be passive like you say. I also want to get a little more aggressive and of some skills to do so. But yeah, the more passive the better for sure thanks for the post, just looking for that pullback now.

I have cash to place and with a lot of it I want to focus on income. I want to increase my cash flow, putting some back in taking some out. Rates are low but there are some dividends out there and perhaps some bond funds.

Schwab has a managed plan that is into a lot of ETFs of their own so there's no cost to account holders. It has good ideas.

I remember when ETFs came out, I thought they were the best because we can predict sectors a little better.

For the aggressive side I've always liked the idea of trading options around ETFs.

I've had cash in books that I was willing to risk at a decent return over a lot plays, what's to stop me from using that cash to just buy a bunch of junk bonds with high yields and sit back.

All kinds of options out there but Omedo is absolutely right about going for discount and getting some yield in the meantime, basics that can be forgotten when markets are rolling and there's an itch to trade...lol.
