It was the heaviest burst of violence in the volatile area since November 2012, when Israel and Hamas' rulers engaged in eight days of heavy fighting. The sudden flare-up threatened a cease-fire that halted that fighting and which largely has held up for the past 13 months.

It's not newsworthy because people die in Gaza and the West Bank every single day at the hands of Israel and people die in Israel very frequently at the hands of the Palestinians.

It is accepted and expected that there will be violence on a daily basis in those areas just like it is accepted and expected that there will be violence on a daily basis in Iraq.

Common, everyday stuff is not newsworthy no matter how bad it is.

The Palestinians are far worse to the Israelis then vice versa however part of the reason is they have nothing and exist on foreign aid so they understandably have far more rage and desperation.

Ask the Arabs they used to invade Israel every few years and got smashed every time. Now they just do little meaningless hit and runs giving Israel an excuse to hit them back. They know the war is lost until Iran or another Israeli enemy get a nuke. Problem is Israel knows that also and will just bomb the reactor before they get close. They have done it before and will do it again. It is virtually impossible for one of these third world countries to develop a nuke.
