I totally agree. Worst thing is that there is a whole generation of kids coming up that will have little if any true social skills. Most do not know how to communicate, or even interact, with a person face-to-face. Its pathetic.
And I'm sorry, but anyone who abbreviates anything besides a text (i.e. email) comes off as an immature, unprofessional kid. Any email I receive that has "lol", "lmao" or any other gay-ass abbreviation in it gets instantly deleted.
