    My kids three and he's already been taught.

    I am an old fashioned dad, the rule for that type of thing is such:

    If another little kid is hitting or hurting you, you ask him to please stop. If he continues, you tell him to stop. If the second request doesn't work, you knock that kid out. Dad will never be mad at you for step three, as long as you went through steps one and two.
