Tips for anyone struggling in low stakes

    Play a level higher.

I used to get pissed off losing to morons who had no fear in low stakes, moved up a level and you wouldn't believe how tight people are. I was on tilt after losing a couple low stake sit and go's, bought into higher stake tournaments and started raising/reraising people like crazy. Before you know it I was starting to cash and win more then I used to. Playing on tilt is never a good thing but it can help you realize that playing aggressive pays off more often.

    Slow down.

Take more time when you are in a hand. Not only does it piss off your opponent, it makes them think twice about bluffing you. If you are folding/betting really fast you can give off tells online. Make your opponent sweat before every bet he makes, it will give you more time to think about your move as well.

Just a couple things I thought I'd share after learning them myself.

I'm just going to guess that if the loose calling stations at the lower levels are having their way with you, the tighter ones in the higher stakes are going to rip you apart.

I couldn't agree more. I also would like to add a few extra hints in for your gameplan.

Checking then calling your draws is excellent. Why bet or raise when you can simply check/call away and try to "get there"

Minimum raises are a very sophisticated strong play.

In tourney play (especially true in tourneys with faster blinds) limping/calling four hundred chip bets when you only have 1000 left and 2 dueces(or any other cards for that matter) in your hand is power poker, if somebody raises and you have to fold so be it, at least you got a few chips left.

Again for the tourneys, folding when over half your chips are in the pot also is a very +EV play. Math/numbers be damned that say call, were playing power poker now
