Being on a meaningless leaderboard isn't amazing for a mediocre player such as yourself; the reason has been explained to you countless times, and the only effect has been to prove you're too dense to grasp what everyone else does, and what can easily be demonstrated by comparing you to clearly superior players with fewer tourney points.

There's a chance you might grasp all this some day, but it appears your only chance is to lose bets and challenges who-knows-how-many times before you start trying to change your opinions instead of facts. Til then, we'll be happy to take your points while proving you wrong

If you mean the annual challenge of mine, yeah, you were a bit too late: http://www.sportsbookreview.com/foru...l#post21592746

If you're referring to challenging bobbo at some point during the year, moot point, he wouldn't have accepted any challenge with you, not when he turns down ones from DS and bite who weren't on the leaderboard at the time.

I have the same responsible mindset, only bet what I can comfortably afford to lose. This is a lesson from Gambling 101 that Tripe never bothered to learn, as he'll be taking a loan to pay Waves if he loses.

Yep, think I played once last week. And maybe once the week before. Shouldn't be too hard to determine how your beating me.

And you have refused every other heads up challenge I have made with you including one that would last a year.

Nothing wrong with that sin, but I did offer alternatives:

Other restrictions will likely apply to ensure people don't freeroll and stop paying if they get a bad start.
Not betting what you can't afford to lose is certainly a good practice, but there's no conceivable circumstance in which a player halfway qualified for the contest couldn't make 400 points in a month, which is why I offered it to make it easier for people to enter. It's a shame you didn't enter; bobbo's performance wouldn't have been any better, but it might have inspired the rest of us to try a bit harder and kept things interesting. I have another challenge in mind for 2015, hope to see you in it

Years? This is only my 2nd full year playing. I was banned in 2011/2012, surely you can look that up & verify. You barely finished ahead of me in 2013, as I finished in top 10. You're getting absolutely pummeled in 2014.

Yeah, again your pummeling an empty seat but glad that means something to you.

So the one year we both played (you probably every single tourney and me most of them) you lost. We also played a 2 month tourney that again, you lost and badly I might add. And you now refuse to play me in any contest heads up because you know what will happen....Hint, you will lose. But tell yourself whatever you want. Anyone that read could see you are scared of me and not the other way around.

Yeah, everyone except bobbo has come to that conclusion...will be interesting to see his excuse for ducking you in an annual contest in a few months; I suspect it will be the same "I think I'm better than DS, but I'm unwilling to take him heads-up in any format")

If BD wants to talk about classless, who talks smack while trailing a challenge by 3k? His buddy Tripe does. Granted Tripe is playing much better now & can finally back up his smack talk, albeit 9 months later. But to talk smack like he did when trailing by 3k was totally ignorant & classless, thus I thoroughly enjoy slow rolling him.

I rarely engage others, especially when unwarranted like Tripe. But when I'm engaged, I'll obviously defend.
You never talk about how great you think you are? Oh this is rich.

must say bobbo has impressed me somewhat as well this year...agree he takes a ton of shit and most if not all is warranted but I thought that donk, triper and myself would leave him in the dust in the yearly standings and he is holding his own...kudos bobbo and it has been an enjoyable sweat over this year long wager and reading all the back and forth is always humorous...

I've only played with him two or three times since I started playing again and all I see is a guy trying to defend himself. I don't see the stalling, chest beating, or many other things he's been accused of. I do vaguely remember that from playing years ago though...at least the stalling. With that said it's entirely possible that he's been motivated to improve. God knows if some of you spent half the time trying to figure out your own leaks as you do bitching about the software, you'd probably have 20 WSOP bracelets by now.

I would essentially agree with some clarifications:

    1) His stalling (that I have seen) is less frequent.
    2) It look like his "chest thumping" has lessened/gone away since he has lowered in the over leaderboard he used to post a lot.

Part of the above might be because of additional scrutiny he has garnered based on the posts. (even if he will not admit this).

The only thing that I have seen recently that rubs me the wrong way lately is his pride on slow rolling people. I do not know if I have seen it but he has stated that he has no problem doing it.

As I have always said, to each his own. Cheers and good luck all.

"It's so retarrded on so many levels"..... who is that announcer??? hahaha, first, that's an insult to retarrded people....... second, what is so retarrded is that even sbr knows not to use "retarrded" --- so politically incorrect i have to put two "r's" in it just to comment on it.....

calling "time out" in holdem.... to consult with others! what the fck half-ass event was this???? Nevertheless, I like it!!!! I want to designate carseller and Chi-Pup as my "consultants" for the dailies, and be given one time out per tourny to consult with them on the play at hand......

and, I definitely think SBR should implement time outs in the upcoming World Cup..... Last Cup I could have called one vs. jedimindpicks to "ice him" before he hit call with two shitty cards on my AQ shove at the end of our day-one trny... he'd have consulted with his teammates during my time out, who would have told him to fold his shit hand, and ida won that damn tourney. as it was, with no time outs, he snap calls with shit and of course sucks out on the river to win the fuckin' hand!!!!!!! tuned the tide for the entire world cup right then and there.... confeds would've steamrolled the remaining days but for my day one loss and the lack of timeouts!

consider this my formal petition to add timeouts to SBR. (But, as you guys can't even afford software that shows the players their cards once they fold, I won't hold my breath!!!)

Bobbo's "style" of folding all but premium hands hasn't gotten any better, he simply benefits from a more generous prize structure (more bottom heavy than a typical tourney prize pool, and more concentrated than the old 20-person payouts) as well as a general decrease in number of people playing. Many of the better players (yourself certainly included) aren't drastically affected by the number of people playing a tourney, whereas bobbo's chance of cashing goes down severely with increased number of players. Add in the increased dedication to angle-shooting for smaller tourneys, and it's not something you can realistically attribute to his "game", especially not after seeing him play

To his credit, he has made some small changes to his game, something I thought very unlikely. Unfortunately for him, these changes range from poor attempts to copy the moves of better players (without an understanding of why the moves were made) to just being a douche in the slim chance of grabbing a mincash instead of 13th.

I'd wish you a happy sweat, but it seems unlikely...you'll simply have to settle for collecting

    1) His stalling is a little less frequent now that he realizes most folks have seen him do it and called him out on it at the tables. When eh realizes he's not sneaking anything past anyone, he tends to back off a little, while trying to make up excuses like "multi-tasking" that only seems to happen with premium hands or when near the bubble

    2) He certainly hasn't talk much smack since late August...he could be coming to grips with reality, or he could just be sore from losing his lead as well as two poker-related bets to me in the meantime...who knows, but it's a good move on his part, and generally a good thing for us as his material is getting a bit stale.

Being proud of slow-rolling is a bit of a dick move...with him it's hard to say if it's a slow-roll or stall sometimes, but whichever it is, it's poor form. But admitting as much would be the same as admitting other things widely known to the poker community, and he doesn't seem ready to become a better player by doing so...to the benefit of the few people he won't run away from in poker contests I guess

Apparently the real mental challenge here is for you to come up with a coherent analogy....so I'll spell it out for you so you have a shot at grasping the purpose of the thread :

    1) Bobbo has a reputation as a nit who takes advantage of overlays and stalling to accumulate mincashes rather than relying on poker skill.

    2) Most of my playing experience against him validates this reputation.

    3) He surprised me with some aggressive moves late tournament that I didn't expect, so I thought it merited some public praise considering that he's railed on constantly in the forums for being unable to play well.

So basically you repeated exactly what I said, only you needed a lot more words to do so.

Yes, I know full well why a fully functional player wouldn't merit such a thread.

Hardly complimentary, this thread is instead rather damning.
