With that said. If you want to tip a dealer then tip them what you can afford or whatever you think is reasonable. tipping in the casino business is good karma and good fortune. Atleast that's what we all tell ourselves. If you dont want to ever have to tip a dealer then i recommend bodog blackjack.

Its funny you mention that as I've thought about it, I got 2 friends that both deal and both make a killing doing nothing, ones a poker dealer that robs 5 from each pot regardless how microscopic the pot is fukin 20 buck pot who cares take 5 and then get tipped 1-2 bucks for your "service" and the other is a casino games dealer that makes over 40k a year workin less than 5 months out of the year

Both these guys are way on the +EV side of the casinos, in other words working for the house

Why do players use the words "rob", "thief", and "steal". You play at your own risk. And you know the odds are against you if you play against the casino. And if you play poker yes you 9 tools at the table are losing $5 from the pot everytime. $3 to the house to set up the poker room and have dealers be there and deal to you guys otherwise the casino is openin the poker room and tables and renting card shufflers and at the end cater to your poker gambling habbits for free. Oh yes and $2 goes to the PSJ (players jackpot) thats when you hit a monte carlo hand and they pay your ass with the collected money that's why it progesses everyday. If you dont want to chip in that measely $5 with the other 8 guys at the table then set up a home poker game and stfu.

I've seen more dealers make a face or give bad body language if they deal a good hand and get a poor tip or no tip. This gets me mad.

Not how I feel at all, the dealer is irrelevant, the game is rigged and the dealer just deals the cards and collects the money for the house, I dont blame the dealer and say **** you ya robbin ************ when I lose but I also dont thank them or tip them when I win

At most casinos its 4 for the house and 1 for the progressive, on top of that they expect 1-2 bucks a hand in tips are you fuckin kiddin me?

Lets say they deal a hand every 2 minutes so rake 120 an hour whilst paying the dealer min wage for a net profit of like 112 bucks an hour guaranteed, yea I really feel like I need to tip extra on top of the 120 an hour were already paying to provide a table and a guy to deal cards

I dont know where you are living at but the economy is a mess most places. I read about a former CEO who was making 100,000 a year and couldnt find a job so he is delivering pizzas for 8 dollars an hour. Some people at Mcdonalds and other minimum wage jobs have a college degree but cant find any other jobs right now. I respect that rather than just sitting at home on your ass and doing nothing. Im glad you are raking in the money

If you put it that way you individually are paying aprox $13 an hour for your seat so you can try to win other peoples money. But when you rake in a kill pot in a 4-8 game for $300+ you're telling me you cant throw a $1 chip towards the dealers way? Then why are you gambling in the first place if that $1 or $2 will put a dent in your piggy bank.

You are wrong here and I can prove it to from your statement. I first mentioned about the retired Brick and Mortar player. Most of those guy play AT LEAST 4-5 days a week.

Now you said that you tip around $35 a night. Well lets make that $30 a night. If you ONLY play 100 days a year then that is $3000 a year. Most of those guys play around 200 days a year or more. So they are giving out $6000 in tips OR MORE

The poker dealers at the casino I go to make $5 an hour + tips. How many many hands do you think they deal per hour, and how many of those hands do you think they receive tips from?

Dude c'mon I mean yes the 1 300 dollar pot you rake in all day sure you can tip a buck but Im talkin bout the guys that tip fuckin religiously, I'll go down there and play 1/2 NL and guy will win a 20 buck pot thats first raked like 4 bucks so they get 16 then theyll throw the dealer a dollar and have 15 bucks 10 of which was theirs to begin with, the house/dealer made as much that hand as the winning player, its a fuckin joke what some of these suckers are doing out there

First off it depends on the # of players how long a hand takes, a full table 10 handed I would just guess around 2 mins, so you're talking 30 hands/hour, gettin tipped 2/3 of the hands 1-2 dollars at least depending on the game more at higher games, basically the uneducated bastards makin about 30 bucks an hour to rob your ass blind and YOU'RE the one payin his salary lol, not the casino that's rakin 120 bucks an hour risk free no its the guy who won a 20 buck pot that got robbed 4 bucks that is paying the dealers insane salary, dude should be thankful to get paid min wage to deal some fukin cards

Your logic is ridiculous as well, I CAN afford to go out and buy the meal I just dont want to pay everyone's ******* salary on top of the price of my meal, when you go to Wal-Mart if they said that'll be 800 bucks for a TV and you were expected to tip 160 bucks to the guy who helped you load that 80 lb thing into your car would you say sure bc that guy doesnt make much over minimum wage, I mean why would you even buy a nice TV if you cant afford a 20% tip for the guy helpin you carry that thing out to your car

It would also create MORE jobs if ppl didnt have to pay 20% extra for tips, I would be more incline to go to a restaurant if it was 20% cheaper, the owners are creating LESS jobs but making MORE money for themselves by making the employees dependent on random tips from the customers to make a living, you are complimenting the owners for paying slave wages and basically creating a workforce of beggars, very ****** up logic you have
if i were buying a big ass t.v. and needed help i'd bring a friend.

when i buy new furniture and get it delivered and have two big ass dudes bring it into my house and set it up without having it scratched or my walls banged i'll usually leave them a 20 to split to get a burger and some fries. or when i had a piano mover come in to move the grand to the grandma's house, i left him and his helper a 20 because they knew what they were doing and didn't **** up the furniture.

tipping is about reciprocity. when someone provides proper, competent service i thank them appropriately. same goes for when everyone's eating but one person. i thank them appropriately.

bet, have you every bought a 6 pack for a friend who helped you do something around the house?

First off, why the **** would me and a friend drag some 80 lb TV that I'd just paid 800 bucks for (prolly Wal-Mart made 300 profit off of) through the store when they have ppl with dolly's who are employed to do that? It doesnt make any sense

Tip everybody that does anything for ya for all I care, when the bitch makes your food at McDonald's throw her a 20 and say thanks for slaving over that grease pit, if you're that rich where u feel everybody and their grandma deserves a 20 tip just for doing their job that you're already paying for then by all means enjoy yourself.

I used to live in a duplex and when my neighbor would mow my yard I would give him a 12-pack as thanks (it was a small yard and he had a dog and was responsible pretty much anyway but thats the kinda standup godlike creature I am). I have no problem tipping when someone goes out of their way above and beyond but **** if a guy is moving furniture for me I am paying him, if somehow I've scammed somebody into moving it for free sure I'll give em 20 as thanks for the 60 I woulda had to pay a normal sob to do it

So, someone is playing a $1 VP machine and hits a progressive $5K Jackpot with a royal flush, you want 10% of that? even 5% is way to much. WTF

I hate when dealers say...."a tip would be nice" that is when I DONT tip. you don't ask for a tip, PERIOD

As a dealer, we are just robots. We deal the cards to you, give you a card when you hit, pay you when you win, take your wager if you lose, help you with the game if you need help. As players, you are not pressured into tipping us but it would be nice and generous of you if you do and we thank you. Gambling is gambling of course the house edge is against you and your chance of losing is higher than winning. But when you only put $15 at risk on a paigow hand and happen to win a few hundred or even a few thousand, throwing the dealer $10, $20, $50 is nothing. Afterall the dealer did shuffle the cards and placed it in the machine and shook the dice so that the royal flush landed on the spot you were playing. Get where i'm going here? The Wager that you risked was so small but your return was 150-1 odds giving the dealer 1/150 of your return wont put a dent in the savings will it? If it does then you shouldnt be gambling to start with. Usually dealers are looking to get just 10% of a jackpot. But a lot of people tip 5% all the
time. Now if you are risking $900 a hand on baccarat and win 10 hands in a row, we dont expect $900 in tip. Because you are risking a lot to win a lot. Not a little to win a lot. You can just tip the dealer $50 or so and leave. But if you really like a dealer because the way they treat you or you like their skill level or they keep you entertain and you want to tip them more, make sure you ask them if they get to keep their own tips or do they have to share. Because you dont want to tip someone who didnt do anything to help you out or dealt you winners all night. Hopefully this helps as I dont want to ramble on any longer.

Dont act like such a prick, if you want to tip the girl at Burger King a 20 be my guest, for me personally I dont and it has nothing to do with how much money I have, in fact its the guys who are reckless with their money like you that end up living under an overpass

I only tip dealers if I win BIG!!!!
I tell them them at the begging of the session. If I win BIG you get a good tip.
So they would want me to win, and cheat for me.

You must be high, 5-10% tip

I might throw you a 25 chip and say here get yourself something nice, well actually after the way you've acted in this thread I wouldnt tip you a fuckin dollar, just knowing that you think you are entitled to 5-10% of a jackpot is comical, so if I win 10k you expect me to tip you 500-1k just for dealin the hand, you dealers must be taking a break to smoke crack every 20 minutes when you get "tapped out" of the game

people will gamble regardless,so in saying that Computer programs are far more efficient and theres no chance of computers cheating or making mistakes, so casinos would love to get rid of the dealers. Take away tipping, you take away good paying jobs thus take away the dealer and the casino will replace them with machines.

Besides, I'm a good tipper which bring some benefits. The most obvious is the floor man steering m towards the whales in the room (poker). You better believe my return on investment on this tidbit is enormous.

the second is more subtle, when I used tp play table games in the past. The dealer would hook me up when I was losing. Paying me when I pushed or pushing my hand when I lost. Its happened multiple times, all because I'm a good tipper.

If you dont like tipping, than gamble on the Internet. You ask any dealer, they will tell you the same thing, they dont expect tips when you are losing.

probably not, but whether you tipped or not, you still would've lost the money. thats why I dont play table games anymore, stick with poker, sports and horse racing

In my line of work if we get a tip it's considered bribery and it's not allowed.
