How a Thunder championship could turn a $100 parlay into $1.7M

That article is very interesting, but not about this bet.

The info on WagerWire integrating with sportsbooks to manage a secondary ticket buy/sell market directly inside apps instead of current awful cashout offers is intriguing.

Getting in early to exploit that could be profitable.

His cash out amount is still only $100,000 which seems extremely low. They are +650 ish to win. $175-200k seems like at much more fair cash out number in my eyes. These sites should at least be made to provide somewhat reasonable numbers if a Cash Out feature is going to exist.

I agree. It's almost a little scammy/unethical seeing cashout offers so far under fair value.

cashout feature was designed for the sportsbook to get better edge not the player.

having extra money to hedge bets is always better

Caveat Emptor is one thing. But making very lowball offers as a business strategy to rely on either ignorance or desperation is not ethical in my mind.

I don't have enough money in INJ to be sweating too much about it. Just hoping it hits your original prediction at some point.

I kind of expected this doldrum period after this years bull run anyway.

But he probably should cash out though, I hope he at least pounded the Mavs series.

What would the series price be on OKC/Den and OKC/Bos? Right now OKC is +800 at DK.

why was it dumb? imo, OKC has an average chance at best to knock off denver or boston. slightly better against minny. having to beat 2 of them? just not seeing it from such a young, inexperienced team. my goal would have been to pull out as soon as they beat the mavs. would have been tempting to see if they can steal game 1 of the WCF, but then i'd probably get greedy and keep going, regardless.

it became obvious after game 3 though that they were in trouble with dallas. guy was lucky they came back in game 4.. or else his 80k probably would have been like 5k down 1-3. i would have jumped on the 80k too at that point. he caught a break. not worth the stress hoping to squeeze out a little more. and sure enough, they're in deep shit now.

He could of easily got 150 to 200k on prop swap for that ticket. So yes taking an 80 grand cash out was absurdly dumb. I feel bad for the guy....I'm shocked that nobody told him to go that route.

if someone paid 150 k thinking that OKC actually had a shot to win it all then they don't know anything lol

Well obviously now as I type this....yes its not looking promising, but at the time when he made his decision they were favored to win the series and rightly so. I'd of paid 150k for the ticket without batting an eye......200k? not so much as that was a fair market value for that ticket. 150k would of been well below market value.....80K? thats just straight up robbery. I honestly feel for that guy and disappointed that nobody in his circle or online told him to check out one of the ticket exchanges like propswap. Guy looks like a good dude.

guy just made 81k on a somewhat cheesy future. i'm really not feeling bad for him.. especially when he got very lucky the mavs couldn't pull ahead 3-1 in the series, which would have destroyed it all.

The Thunder aren't winning anything. Take the money and run.
