    NFL lock-out Implications for UFL

if things continue to go, or not go apparently with the NFL players and owners. and come next spring, a lock-out seems inevitable.

what are the implications for the UFL teams, and their drafts?

    I see some interesting situations.

NFL players that had contracts that ran out after the 2010-11 season, maybe you are a marginal that is up in age, and no longer under contract. you might only have 1 or 2 years left in you. In the UFL you would be a star. and could make maybe upwards of 1 million.

practice squad players and often released players. Guys that bounce around here and there, from nfl team to nfl team basically depending upon injuries to other players at their positions.

College players, that would not get drafted until late in the daft or that would go undrafted but would prob get signed as undrafted free agents and invited to camps.

some of these guys, may come from very poor families and need $ right away. its either that, or go back and live with grandma in the hood, and risk getting shot or caught up in drugs. It might be the right decision for them to consider the UFL.

I'm not sure what the rookie contracts after being drafted by a ufl team look like. not sure how many years the players would be "restricted" or if they could sign 1 year deals and be unrestricted and go back to the nfl in 2012.

anyways, anyone know the exact contract rules with the UFL?
