Aaron Rodgers - Best Superbowl QB Perfromance Ever?

Strength of Opposing D - Very High
    Strength of Opponent - High
    Opposing Q - Very good
    Running Game - Non-existent
Receiver Help - Average - lots of dropped balls, no game breaking run and catch help
Anti- Trent Dilfer carry load - Very High

Over 300 yards, 3 TD's and No Picks.

Was pressured, banged around a bit, had a receiver go down and had to withstand dropped balls. Also, was called to make plays for the whole game. High Pressure series where he made the big throws when he had to. Did not simply get to run out game and look good with 4th quarter play action passes v an unexpecting D.

Steeler D actually had a pretty good game plan.

big deal, he completed a few slants

his team led the whole game, so he never had to improvise like Ben does

Ben is good, but he improvises because he lacks accuracy, quick release and ability to quickly read a defense.

His team led, but hard to make those throws with lead. Can make the argument that is easier when behind. High, high pressure series. You have to throw, but don't blow it.

not even close. it was his fault they didnt convert some of those 3rd quarter third downs. and at a time when his defensive backs were being decimated.

I guess good reads but at same time his receivers are wide open 2 seconds after the snap

Every play he had to get rid of the ball quick and make great throws. The D was getting there.

    No.

His defense was also very good.

If his receivers didn't drop 6 passes and he completes 75% for 400, 4 TDs, 0 INTs, then maybe.

    Look at Brees last year. 32/39 (82% ), 288, 2 TDs, 0 INT.

Not really saying it is either, but was asked to do a ton and had to endure a lot.

Who knows, but nevertheless I believe everybody knows Aaron Rodgers is an elite level QB now.

Glad to hear Sportscenter is talking about this too, although not a big fan of their usual overreaction. This time might be deserved.

Didn't watch or listen to game just looked at box score and it was all Pittsburgh, except for turnovers. Tomlin lost the game IMO with the FG attempt in the 3rd Quarter when they had the chance to go ahead if they went for a 1st down instead of Field Goal.......

Score was 21-17 and a FG doesn't give you the lead

50 yard field goal in dome is a reasonable expectation.

2 minutes not sure what that means? Were they up with 2 min left and not able to hold onto lead , but a loss would have hurt the resume for sure.

He made some really great throws. The one Jones dropped would have been a touchdown and a backbreaking play a lot earlier in the game. He was victimized by some drops but he missed a few throws as well. Not the best ever, but I love watching him play. I hate watching him sometimes because I'll watch him complete passes the QB of my team couldn't complete in 100 tries.

rogers stats of 300 yds and 3 TDs sure look nice on paper but i was not THAT impressed with him. he had an excellent first half, i give him that, but barring a costly mendenhall fumble, packers could of very well lost this game.

dont get me wrong either, i'm not taking anything away from rogers, he did a great job all night and his team did win... but you realize that he only scored one touchdown from a full offensive drive? pitt held gb to just 1 TD and 1 FG when it wasnt a turnover. if that defense did not come through like they did tonight, i think pitt would of won this game.

and i am not saying this of rogers because i was on pitt because i wasnt (ok i was for the 2nd half when it hit +300 in live betting), i had gb-3 and gb ml. i was not very confident for this game but i can say for sure that i am fortunate to pull this one out as a win. rogers did a great job, but BEST superbowl performance? come on man, HOLD ON PLAYA

Not even. And I'm not saying it was the best. What I am saying is that the competition is not that great for this title as evidenced by no suggestions brought up and that his performance should be looked at closely.

How many times have we seen when other team has momentum, the other Team having an awfully hard time getting first downs. Aaron faced this with no running game against an absolutely stellar D. Not easy.

LOL proof right here people look too much into stats.... Green Bay obviously dominated that game. No run game needed.

Look at my criteria and get the heck out of here with that. Steve Bono could have won that game. Not anything against Steve, he won the NFC Championship game and that was what it was all about back then.

Yea Chargers defense in that 1994-95 Superbowl were a joke. 49ers were favored to win that game by 13 points if I remember correctly.
No comparison to going up against the 2010-11 Steelers defense.

This Steelers D was pretty terrible against the pass this year though. Most decent QBs did well, and Brady and Sanchez tore them apart. The strength of the Steelers D was their run stopping. They really only had Polamalu in the secondary. Most Steeler fans I've talked to said secondary and Oline were the 2 biggest weaknesses all year long

Aaron Rodgers is the next Joe Montana.

I consider him an elite quarterback like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Philip Rivers and Drew Brees.

It does rank up there with the best, and as a 9er fan I have to live with the fact that my team chose Alex Smith with Aaron Rodgers sitting there on a tee to be chosen while having played college ball right across the bay.

Actually the 49ers closed at -18 in that game. Thats how much better the 49ers and Cowboys were than the rest of the league in the early to mid 90s.

    Got that right.
Simms carved up the Bronc's, went 22 for 25, and the 3 he didn't hit 2 were dropped.

I'm not sure about the Super Bowl but I think Rodgers' playoff run -- maybe with the exception of the 2nd half of the Bears game -- was one of the better total playoff performances I'm aware of.
