there is a software you can download for twenty bucks that will move the music from the ipod back to itunes on your computer. If you download itunes on your new computer and connect your ipod it will not accept it cause it is linked to the old itunes. that is the easier way to do it than uploading all your cd's again.

that gives you two options doing that, erase what is on the ipod or just transfer just music purchased from itunes.

download itunes on your new computer and then hook up the ipod and it will tell you the two options you have. it will say that the ipod is linked to another itunes library and you can sync it the new itunes and it will erase the music on the ipod. you can cancel at that point.

    1. Download winamp. Free.
    2. Download the ipod plugin for winamp at mlipod.com. Free.

After doing the 2 above, just plug your ipod into your computer via the cable, and winamp will recognize it, and then you can move music back and forth all day long. I don't have itunes installed; I just use winamp and the ipod plugin to do what I need to do.

well the copytrans software should get all of your music back on itunes and your new computer. for future reference you might want to get a dvd-r cd and copy your music on to it, I think one cd will hold between 600-1000 songs depending on the song lengths. that way you will always have a backup.

I did the copytrans thing and it worked. I can't get the podcasts off though even though I didn't select them. Any ideas?

Are you saying that it transferred the podcast from your ipod to itunes and you did not want them on there anymore?

Yes, when I did it originally it gave me options to check or uncheck what I wanted. I unchecked all of the podcasts and some songs. It only carried over 100 songs max, but the frickin podcasts went.

I dl intunes and some new podcasts, but they won't sync up to my ipod. They are on itunes though.

It must be the trail since I didn't have to pay anything.

All I want is the old podcast off and be able to sync newones. I even removed it tunes and try to do it again.

figured you was using just the trial, it has a 100 song limit. I'm sure you have more songs than that. From doing this about five times I'm telling you the twenty bucks for the software is worth it. It will transfer everything you want and it will always sync up with itunes. If you really don't want to spend the money you can try doing it this way

you might have to reset your Ipod. If you have iTunes on you new computer, log into it and plug in the iPod and it should link up.

ok if you have an ipod touch you can do this

Click an individual podcast - it will now have the date and time of podcast in the description
dont click it - that would just play the podcast - instead just slide your finger from left to right and a red delete button will appear.

Click that and the podcast is no more!

ok, if you have not got them off yet, the last thing I know you can do is play the podcast on your nano then hook it up to itunes. It is suppose to delete them during the sync
