Is Kobe the greatest Laker ever?

At 40 years old Kareem played in 79 games, his ave 33 minutes 23 points at 40, do u think Kobe would be playing in the NBA when he is 40?
Kareem career shooting percentage is 56%
    6 NBA championships
6 NBA MVP - Kobe just 1 time
rookie of the yr - Kobe was not the rookie of the yr

Kobe's career shooting percentage is 10 points lower 46%

Kobe never shot over 50% in his 13 year career, Kareem played in the league for 20 years, every year he shot over 50%, except his last when he was 42 years old

56% vs 46% career shooting percentage, unstoppable skyhook vs 46% jumpshot
    who would you rather have?
who is the best Laker ever?

No, but that's hardly an insult considering the talent the Lakers have had in their history. As far as the ring comparison above, what does that have to do with anything? Bill Russell would be better than Jordan or Kobe if you're talking about rings, hell, so would Horry.

6-24 from the field? 25% FG's in a game 7 at home with terrible shot selection and you guys think Kobe is the best Laker? Ron Artest should of gotten the finals MVP. Kobe has sucked off so many other players for rings its not even funny. Kobe has never hit a big shot in the playoffs, oh yea one and thats it. Artest and Fisher last night hit the two big 3's. Gasol had to finish off Kobes missed game winner against OKC and Artest had to finish off Kobes missed game winner against Phoenix. How about Horrys 3 against the Kings or Fishers .04 sec shot against the Spurs? Last year in Orlando Fisher hit a big 3 to send it to OT, hit a big 3 in OT and Gasol got 2 run out dunks in OT and where was Kobe? Lakers would of won easily last night if Kobe didnt come out chucking his ass off and taking terrible shots, but its all good the refs made up for it giving LA 15 FT's in the first 9.5 minutes of the fourth. Gasol got away with a travel on a put back, shoved rondo to the ground on a nnother put back niether is called. Kobe plows into a wall of defenders outside the restricted area and he get FT's. Kobe's little go through the arms to get 3 ft's is a rule that has got to be changed, Kobe RELIES on the refs thats why he throws a fit worse than any other player when hes not getting calls, shit other guys get T'd up or/and ejected, he gets to do whatever his little heart desires. NBA is pathetic **** LA and **** Kobe.

No shit Kareem had a better shooting percentage than Kobe, he was a center. Centers/power forwards are supposed to have a better percentage because all of their shots are 4 feet from the basket.

You have to be phukin kidding me. In MJ's day they used to play something called defense in the NBA and the comp was much tougher. There was also none of this ticky tack foul crap. Defenders were actually allowed to put their hands on the offensive player which is now an automatic foul and there were actually dominant big men on more than 1 team.

Back in the day if a player tried to drive the lane he'd either get slammed or elbowed in the throat. Considering MJ did what he did in the era he did it in makes MJ that much more impressive.

These comparisons are ridiculous. Kobe is great, there's no question about it, but he's also playing in a watered-down league. The skill level at the top is very high, but then it drops off dramatically. Jordan played against better players top to bottom.

Moreover, to base it on shooting percentage makes no sense. Kobe has to go against the toughest defender every game, and faces double and triple teams. To shoot 46% is actually an achievement considering the defense he faces and shots he takes.

Every generation had their greats; it's impossible to say one is greater than the other.

Its a toss-up between Kobe and Magic. You can make arguments both ways. Personally I think Magic is better, but thats just my opinion. Kareem was great too, and so was Wilt. But I would say that they were more "freaks of nature" than raw talent, especially Wilt.

As far as Kobe vs Jordan, its Jordan hands down. Kobe has got that "Jordan edge", but not like Michael. He had some bad playoff games, but not game 7 of the finals like Kobe had last night. And Jordan's competition was better back then than Kobe's is now. You think the Celtics D is physical? Try playing against the Detroit Piston "Bad Boys". They would put you on the floor every time you drive the lane and not think twice about it.

I mean they even came up with the "Jordan Rules" which they used when playing against the Bulls. Does anybody have the "Bryant Rules"? Don't think so.

Kobe, 5 titles in 11 years, 7 finals appearances in 11 years. If that's not a dynasty I don't know what is.

Magic was the best laker ever and will be forever. Kobe couldnt do half of what Magic used to do with the ball. Magic was one of the most amazing athletes to ever play and he along with Bird saved and made the NBA what it became. Magic won the NBA title in his rookie year playing centre in the last game. I doubt Kobe could do that. Magic #1 forever.

Magic not even close either. Magic was like a giant playing the point guard position. IMO he is the greatest PG ever just because of how many skills that guy had playing in that position but mainly his size . He was basically a power forward playing point guard and making it looking pimp as hell.
