From the information I'm getting... it's near 100% it will happen. Lions have already received word... if they beat the Packers... they are in the playoffs... regardless of what Seattle does.

Hammer detroit to win the nfc at +4000. You can hedge down the line

Ridiculous; just declare Cincy the winner by a score of 7-3 and move on.

It's not that easy to just declare cincy the winner. Totally unfair to buffalo and the teams playing for the top seed

I'm guessing there's some rule where you have to play X amount of minutes to make a game official, similar to 5 innings in baseball. If anything they will just short those teams the game and the standings will be based on percentage

seems like the only logical solution.

The MNF game was huge as far as playoff seating goes for both teams but the outcome is huge for playoff implications for teams like Miami, New England and Pittsburgh.

Yeah this sucks for the Eagles especially when none of these cancelations/Postponements happened to NFC teams. But then you will have whoever finishes #8 be like "The AFC got 8 teams, why can't we be in?" There's just no perfect solution to any of this

Takes the battle for the number 1 seed out of the equation, which was the biggest issue w/ Monday's cancellation. Makes sense from the league's perspective...

Terrible idea. Imagine the #8 seed knocking off the bye-less #1 seed. You can argue that if they are a true #1 then they should have no problem winning...but it shouldn't come to that.

What should have happened is this Sunday should have been the bills/bengals game plus all games that have 0 impact on playoff seeding...then the following Sunday play all the remaining games that have playoff implications. Wild card weekend etc are all pushed back a week. The networks would never allow it tho.

The other interesting thing if there are 8...if seattle loses to the rams...gb and det are both in at 7 and 8...it would make the snf finale a meaningless preseason game unless someone cared about going to philly/sf/min

Would be awesome for nbc to get fkd, nobody wants to watch a snf finale full of backups.

Even more so...if the saints win they are 8/9. If the seahwaks lose they are 8/9. The loser of det/gb is 8/9. Sea would have 5 conf wins. Saints and snf loser would have 6 conf wins. Idk who wins next tiebreaker but lets say its saints....you would set it up where both teams need to tie to both make it otherwise one could knock the other out...didnt this just happen with Raiders and chargers?

I would think if they go to 8 teams then top 2 seeds get bye? Makes the most sense if they head this way.

    Honestly, not bad:

    1) Doesn't give the Chiefs and UNFAIR ADVANTAGE.
    2) Gives some life to teams on the fringe.

More football. Can't be a bad thing.
