USC fires Football coach Clay Helton

7+ years with not a lot of great results, which is what they expect there. Good move

They were absolutely embarrassed by a Stanford team that was embarrassed by Kansas State the previous week.

USC should go after Meyer before he self-destructs in Jax.

USC needs to stop hiring the WRONG GUY. Clay Helton, Sark, and Lane Kiffen were double digit years of failure. That's on the AD. Start hiring established legendary coaches and stop with the hot new coordinators on the rise with very little experience.

They should've canned him a few years ago.

atmosphere must be too wild. like living in a 24/7 party. not the best way to get 100% out of players

take those same players to lincoln, NE and they are a playoff team quite often

They did fire him, but they make it sound like he retired or quit for a better job...lol...

Thank you Coach Helton for all you have given to USC Football and the entire USC community. ..."This afternoon, I informed Clay Helton of my decision to make a change in the leadership of our football program," said USC athletic director Mike Bohn in a statement. "Clay is one of the finest human beings I have ever met in this industry, and he has been a tremendous role model and mentor to our young men. We appreciate his many years of service to our university and wish him nothing but the very best. Consistent with our values as an institution, he deserves the utmost respect from the Trojan Family during this transition."...

they didn't fire him after the 7-5 season because the buyout was too high, the PREZ did not want urban meyer due to the controversy, plus the U$C Brass wanted control over the program and the hires, etc, so they kept him.

but if you watched them vs Stanfarce, you would have seen that that played with literally no energy and no pop in any phase of the game whether O, D or the kicking game (some ppl don't ever mention special teams but it is 1 out of every 6 snaps so start learning that aspect of the game).

anyhow, there is no choice after saturday night but to can him.

watch them play with more energy and spunk now under associate head coach now interim HC williams.

The search for the real killer keeps him alive. He is a man on a mission.

He hired the real killer. Fukkin punk named glen rogers mother was buried with Nicole’s broach. Guy wanted to live longer to tell but Califas wanted to make you wonder. O.j. Had glen do some painting on the house.

That's weird because the dna all pointed to Orenthal lol

    But I digress.

U$C had their chance to hire urban meyer 2y ago but balked and kept clay another year-plus.

Look for the retread names jack del rio and jeff fisher etc to bubble up again
