McLaren withdraw from F1 Grand Prix

A team member caught COVID-19 and the entire team just withdrew.

Not surprising at all. At this rate Melbourne will be shut down soon. Should've attempted to contain the virus much earlier than this and now it's just an insane asylum here. Concerts and sporting events cancelled or played in front of no crowd, schools closing, workplaces sending everyone home, people bashing each other over toilet tissue... what a mess

Did you see Coles said today they should be good for TP supplies by this weekend, and said there is no returns allowed for people who bought a lot?

Two members of the HAAS F1 team have tested positive as well now.

My first bets on this race was for McLaren to be top 3 in first practice

It's looking like we are going to lose a lot of motorsport. Might have nothing to bet on either.

I didn't see that but I hope it's true! Bloody idiots with their 28 packs of toilet paper. Funnily enough I was just reading on our local Facebook group page before I saw this thread that a woman had her toilet paper stolen from the boot of her car at LaManna while she was returning her trolley back to the bay. From her bloody boot in broad daylight and it's probably the poshest supermarket here!!! Coincidentally I was in there after work and was looking at the Kleenex aisle hoping to get some because we just always have boxes around the house and haven't been able to buy some for a couple of weeks. A woman was next to me and I turned to her and said I seriously feel like we're in a war zone. No toilet paper at all, pasta and rice had been rifled through (although they did have more than Coles)... and she said she had stolen some Kleenex from work but it was crappy one ply so she was happy to find some too.

We had a bit of a giggle and then it dawned on me that we're not even facing a war or a food shortage or a dictator slaughtering innocent people. Yet there are those stockpiling hoards of food and other stuff like it's doomsday yet we judge those who are actually facing bad situations when our lives are all rosy. This is a virus that we can protect ourselves from by being a bit switched on for the most part. Not someone beheading us or bursting into our home to steal and rape our kids, or all of our crops dying leaving everyone with no food, or our water being contaminated for example. People need to start getting some perspective before the world goes truly mad!

To be serious if we can dispense with the arrogance of jingoism, nationalism and one upsmanship...

I wish everyone in Austalia and every other country around the world to come out of this pandemic as unscathed as humanly possible.
May we all be well and resume normality as soon as humanly possible.

Yeah I agree. As someone said to me today - would this even have been a 'thing' before social media or even the Internet? More people have died in earthquakes in Iran and Papua New Guinea amongst many other places than have died from this virus so far.
Yet we all don't have bunkers and earthquake proof walls (is that a thing?? ) in our homes.

I was thinking tonight that by my trusting that my family and colleagues are following all the recommended hygiene guidelines - that we should be following 100% anyway in normal times - that I'll be like that ding dong NBA player who made a point of touching the mics and stuff and now is inflicted with CV. My first thought was ahhh all of my haters will rejoice on me having to take time off until it dawned on me... sucked in bitches... you're not catching it through my laptop so even if I do get it with my lax attitude you're stuck with me

For anyone looking for small money F1 futures I recommend Ricciardo over Ocon. I have Ricciardo a 85% to 15% favourite. Bet365 had it -225; +162.5. Also Giovinazzi over Räikkönen. I have Giovinazzi a 54% to 46% favourite. Bet365 had Räikkönen -275; +200 over Giovinazzi. These markets are now closed at that book. My main concern with those bets is that those teams are in a 3-way battle for 6th, 7th, and 8th best team, which won't score many points.
