NFL Player News - Week 14

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

JAX - QB Gardner Minshew back in the saddle

    Source: Jaguars.com - John Oehser

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew was named the starting quarterback by head coach Doug Marrone for Week 14 versus the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday, Dec. 2, taking over for Nick Foles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Foles couldn't get it done against the Buccaneers, so Marrone is going with the rookie. Perhaps that has ruffled some feathers with Tom Coughlin, so Marrone may be coaching his last few games with the Jaguars over the course of the next month.

ATL - WR Julio Jones likely to return in Week 14

Source: The Athletic - Jason Butt

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (shoulder) is 'trending upward' in terms of his availability for Week 14 against the Carolina Panthers, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That sounds about right. Quinn added Jones would have had a 'much better chance' to play in Week 13 had the game not been on a short week. We should see Jones limited during practice, at least on Wednesday, with a hope that he could be a full participant on Friday.

KC - Darrel Williams unlikely to play in Week 14

Source: The Kansas City Star - Sam McDowell

Kansas City Chiefs RB Darrel Williams (hamstring) faces a 'good chance' of not being able to play in Week 14 versus the New England Patriots, according to head coach Andy Reid.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Darrel Wiliams and Damien Williams banged up, the Chiefs gave more work to rookie Darwin Thompson. We'll see if Thompson gets a big role behind LeSean McCoy as the Chiefs travel to take on the Patriots in Week 14.

IND - WR Parris Campbell may play in Week 14

Source: The Athletic - Zak Keefer

Indianapolis Colts WR Parris Campbell (hand) has a chance to play in the Week 14 game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team lost Chester Rogers (knee) for the rest of the year, so getting Campbell out there would help. A second-round pick out of Ohio State in the 2019 NFL draft, Campbell hasn't done much this year due to injury. In six games, Campbell has 15 catches for 115 yards and one touchdown. We'll continue to monitor him in dynasty formats.

IND - WR T.Y. Hilton not an IR option

Source: The Athletic - Zak Keefer

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (calf) hopefully will be able to play again this season and is not an option for the Reserve/Injured list at this point, according to head coach Frank Reich.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hilton has been close to returning, he has returned and then he suffered a setback on his calf injury during practice last week. We'll see if he can get back on the practice field this week and get cleared for Week 14.

CLE - QB Baker Mayfield likely to play in Week 14

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield (hand) is reportedly dealing with a bruise on his right hand that occurred after he hit his hand on the facemask of a defender in Week 13 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll monitor his progress during the week of practice. X-rays came back negative on Sunday, Dec. 1, and he was unsure after meeting with the media following the game if he was to undergo an MRI.

NYJ - QB Sam Darnold dealing with minor injuries

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (ribs, knee) is dealing with bruised ribs and knee soreness, but neither injury is considered serious.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Darnold is far from 100 percent but these minor injuries aren't going to knock him out of action. They may limit his production however, so adjust expectations for Darnold since he's not at full strength.

CIN - WR John Ross likely to play Week 14

    Source: ESPN - Ben Baby

Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross (clavicle) is expected to come off the Reserve/Injured list this week and be active in Week 14 versus the Cleveland Browns, according to head coach Zac Taylor.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It will be good to get Ross and his speed out there once again. With Andy Dalton at quarterback, Ross has flex appeal (when at full strength) due to his skill set and connection with the veteran quarterback. Monitor his practice status this week and know that's it's best just to monitor him in the first week back or start him but only as a 'what the heck' flex in Week 14.

CHI - WR Taylor Gabriel still in concussion protocol

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Dickerson

Chicago Bears WR Taylor Gabriel (concussion) has yet to be cleared from the league's concussion protocol as of Monday, Dec. 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

While Gabriel has been out of action, the Bears have turned to Anthony Miller. We'll see if Gabriel can get cleared at some point in the near future, but Miller could make for a nice flex play in Week 14 if Gabriel is still down for Thursday night's game.

NYG - QB Daniel Jones nursing ankle injury

    Source: SNY - Ralph Vacchiano

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (ankle) 'got his ankle twisted' in Week 13 versus the Green Bay Packers but is 'fine' Monday, Dec. 2, according to head coach Pat Shurmur.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones is going through the rigors of an NFL season and playing while banged up a bit. He might be limited in practice this week but Jones should play against the Eagles on Monday night in Week 14.

IND - WR Chester Rogers likely done

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Indianapolis Colts WR Chester Rogers (knee) will likely miss the remainder of the season due to a fracture in his knee. He'll undergo further testing to confirm the injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We saw Marcus Johnson get more work for the Colts on Sunday. He saw the third-most targets behind Zach Pascal and Jack Doyle in Week 13. The passing game as a whole is just waiting for the return of T.Y. Hilton. He suffered a setback with his calf injury last week in practice and did not play against the Titans.

ATL - TE Austin Hooper expected to practice

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper (knee) is expected to practice Monday, Dec. 2.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hooper has missed about a month with this knee injury. He is on track but we'll have to monitor his practice status during the week. If Hooper has to miss more time, the Falcons will continue with Jaeden Graham at the position.

I don't think anyone wants him

They made a big mistake signing him to a big contract

    Wednesday Update

CAR - Ron Rivera let go

    Source: Panthers.com

Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera was fired Tuesday, Dec. 3. Secondary coach Perry Fewell has been named the interim head coach.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Panthers have had a new owner, David Tepper, for about a year and he wanted to go in a different direction. The team now gets a head start when it comes to searching for a new head coach. Offensive coordinator Norv Turner will be shifted from his current role to special assistant to the head coach, while quarterbacks coach Scott Turner will serve as the offensive corner. Rivera should get consideration as a head coach again or at least as a defensive coordinator.

MIA - RB Kalen Ballage done for 2019

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Miami Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage (leg) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ballage wasn't doing a ton for the Dolphins even though he was the lead back. Free-agent RB Zach Zenner (Cardinals) was claimed off waivers to replace him on the roster. The Dolphins will use Zenner for depth but will turn to Myles Gaskin and Patrick Laird in the backfield with Ballage out.

SEA - Near-even split again among Seattle RBs

    Source: ESPN.com - Brady Henderson

Seattle Seahawks RBs Chris Carson played 39 snaps versus 35 for Rashaad Penny in Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings. In Week 12 versus the Philadelphia Eagles, Carson logged 31 snaps and Penny finished with 30.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Carson has RB1 value for Fantasy GMs even with this split. Penny has flex appeal with RB1/RB2 upside in this split as well.

PIT - Juju Smith-Schuster iffy for Week 14

    Source: DKPittsburghSports.com - Dale Lolley

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Juju Smith-Schuster (knee) is questionable to play in Week 14, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs shouldn't like the sound of 'iffy' when it comes to Smith-Schuster's status. Many have other plans in place, and those plans may stay in place in Week 14.

PIT - RB James Conner could practice Wednesday

    Source: DKPittsburghSports.com - Dale Lolley

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner (shoulder) has a chance to practice Wednesday, Dec. 4, and he'll be questionable this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on Conner's status as the week of practice goes on. Benny Snell will handle the workload as a ball-carrier while Jaylen Samuels would get looks as a receiver out of the backfield if Conner has to miss the game against the Cardinals on Sunday.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook OK

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (shoulder) was held out as a precaution after leaving the game Monday, Dec. 2, with a bruised clavicle.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cook insisted after the game that he would be good to go in Week 14. It was a concerning hit, because Cook was hit on the same spot that he was the previous week, and it was a painful hit. Watch his practice status on Friday just to double check. Alexander Mattison is a must-own handcuff for Fantasy GMs.

NFL - Anthony McFarland turning pro

    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

University of Maryland RB Anthony McFarland announced his intention to declare for the 2020 NFL Draft on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McFarland is a smaller back, listed around 186 pounds, but he's got field-flipping speed and can stand out as a big play runner or receiver out of the backfield. He recorded 245 carries for 1,645 yards and 12 touchdowns in his collegiate career

NFL - Laviska Shenault declares for the draft

Source: The Denver Post - Sean Keeler

University of Colorado WR Laviska Shenault announced his intention to declare for the 2020 NFL Draft on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Shenault is one of the most gifted players in this draft class and can hurt a defense as a runner or receiver. He's got incredible concentration to make difficult catches seem routine. Shenault has a lengthy injury history, so medical reports at the Scouting Combine will be huge for his draft stock. He should be a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft.

DAL - RB Tony Pollard sits out Tuesday

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Calvin Watkins

Dallas Cowboys RB Tony Pollard (knee) did not practice Tuesday, Dec. 3, due to a knee injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

They travel to play the Bears on Thursday, so watch to see if Pollard can practice on Wednesday. He's a high-value handcuff for Fantasy GMs who have Ezekiel Elliott.

CIN - WR John Ross will have a role

    Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson

Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross will have a role in Week 14, and he won't be on a pitch count, according to head coach Zac Taylor. 'I don't know if we'll just start and throw him out there and play him 65 plays,' Taylor said. 'He'll have a role and he'll have a spot on the offense moving forward for sure. He's got speed that people fear. We would like to get that back on the field.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ross will have a role but Fantasy GMs need to proceed with caution his first week back. His big-play ability and deep speed are a nice asset for the Bengals offense, so consider Ross a deep 'what the heck' flex...if you want to trust him...in Week 14.

    Thursday Update

IND - WR T.Y. Hilton unsure about returning

Source: 1070 The Fan - Kevin Bowen

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (calf) is unsure he'll be able to return this year, but surgery isn't required. He won't practice Wednesday, Dec. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs have made other plans with Hilton fighting this calf injury. He suffered a setback last week and doesn't look good for Week 14.

NYG - QB Daniel Jones likely out

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (ankle) is in a walking boot with a mild high ankle sprain and will likely be out for Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Giants insist that Jones should return at some point later this year. This week on Monday night the Giants take on the Eagles, and former starter Eli Manning will get back in the huddle. Adjust expectations for the Giants offense accordingly.

TEN - RB Derrick Henry doesn't practice

    Source: TitansOnline.com

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, Dec. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on this situation as the week of practice goes on. Make sure Henry has a full participation on Friday before you plug him in for Week 14.

TB - RB Ronald Jones remains starter

    Source: Buccaneers.com - Scott Smith

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones is still the team's starter, according to head coach Bruce Arians Wednesday, Dec. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's cool but Fantasy GMs have moved on. Jones is getting vultured by Peyton Barber when the team is near pay dirt. He's also gotten benched for missing his block in pass protection. Jones is the starter, but from a fantasy perspective it doesn't matter much in week one of the fantasy playoffs.

IND - RB Marlon Mack to practice

Source: 1070 The Fan - Kevin Bowen

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (hand) will practice Wednesday, Dec. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This was the target return date for Mack all along, but we'll have to see him practice throughout the week. Mack could be a RB3 or flex play in Week 14 if he starts against the Bucs.

CIN - WR A.J. Green out for Week 14

    Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (ankle) won't play in Week 14, according to head coach Zac Taylor. Taylor thinks Green can return this year, and there haven't been extensive talks about the Reserve/Injured list.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It would be news if Green is going to play. He's unlikely to play this year even though Taylor thinks he could. Fantasy GMs have moved on long ago waiting for Green to get back this season.

ATL - Limited participation for TE Austin Hooper

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com

Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hooper is trying to get back on the field this week. He's been trending in the right direction, so make sure to check on his status Friday. If Hooper does play, he should produce his normal TE1 level.

OAK - RB Josh Jacobs does not practice

    Source: Raiders.com

Oakland Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (shoulder) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Let's see if Jacobs can practice on Friday. This shoulder injury has been nagging him for some time.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook listed as limited

    Source: Vikings.com

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (chest) was listed as limited on the team's estimate injury report for Wednesday, Dec. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cook might be limited in the game with an injury that has bothered him for a couple of weeks. Alexander Mattison is a must-have handcuff and could take on a larger role if Cook has to miss time or if the team decides to limit Cook's touches.

PIT - TE Vance McDonald doesn't practice

    Source: Steelers.com

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Vance McDonald (non-injury) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Just a day of rest here for McDonald. The Steelers play the Cardinals on Sunday...and the Cardinals can't cover tight ends. Expect McDonald to be a solid streaming option in Week 14.

PIT - RB James Conner limited in practice

Source: SiriusXM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Benny Snell would be the team's grinder if Conner has to miss more time. Track Conner's status during the week of practice with an eye on Friday as the most important day.

BAL - RB Mark Ingram doesn't practice Wednesday

    Source: BaltimoreRavens.com

Baltimore Ravens RB Mark Ingram (non-injury) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Just a day of rest here. The Ravens should use Ingram as their battering ram against the Bills on Sunday.

CLE - Limited practice for QB Baker Mayfield

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield (hand, ribs) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mayfield is a little banged up but should be able to play in Week 14. The matchup against the Bengals is a good one, so Fantasy GMs should consider Mayfield a QB1 on Sunday.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen does not practice

    Source: Panthers.com

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (concussion) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen may not be able to play in Week 14 due to this concussion. If that's the case, Ian Thomas will be the starter and is worth streaming for Fantasy GMs.

CHI - WR Taylor Gabriel to miss Week 14

    Source: ChicagoBears.com

Chicago Bears WR Taylor Gabriel (concussion) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 4, and has been ruled out for Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That means Anthony Miller is going to keep up with his current role. Miller is a WR3 or flex play on Thursday night against the Cowboys.

NYG - WR Golden Tate likely back

    Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants WR Golden Tate (concussion) is likely to return in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll watch Tate's practice status during the week. He's a WR2 or flex option in PPR leagues in Week 14. Tate will be a 'relief valve' receiver for Eli Manning (Daniel Jones is in a walking boot) on Monday night against the Eagles.

NYG - TE Evan Engram has positive outlook

    Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (foot) has a strong chance to return in Week 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the Giants offense here. Engram's practice status will have to be monitored this week and make sure to check your waiver wire to see if someone dumped him when he was injured. The Giants play the Eagles on Monday night, so Fantasy GMs likely have better options at the tight ends position in Week 14.

DET - RB Kerryon Johnson practicing

    Source: MLive.com - Kyle Meinke

Detroit Lions RB Kerryon Johnson (knee) will practice Wednesday, Dec. 4.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson has been on Injured Reserve with this knee injury and by returning to practice it opens up a three-week window for the Lions to decide whether or not to activate him. The earliest he could return is Week 16, so the Lions roll on with Bo Scarbrough as their lead back for now.

    Friday Update

IND - WR T.Y. Hilton remains sidelined

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (calf) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hilton is unlikely to be back before Week 16 and can be dropped in redraft leagues.

PIT - RB James Conner says he'll miss game

Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Chris Adamski

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner (shoulder) said Thursday, Dec. 5, that he will miss the team's Week 14 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Benny Snell should get the majority of the carries and it sets him up for an RB2/Flex worthy status against a Cardinals defense that had trouble with Todd Gurley last week.

CLE - QB Baker Mayfield gets good prognosis

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield (hand, ribs) will be 'fine,' head coach Freddie Kitchens said Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks like Mayfield will be able to go in a great matchup against the Bengals on Sunday. Kitchens said that Mayfield didn't throw in practice Wednesday to rest his injured hand, and that the rib injury wasn't a factor.

CLE - WR Odell Beckham Jr. stays limited

    Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. (groin) remained a limited participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Beckham appears to be limited by this issue in games lately and hasn't been a playmaker. If you are considering benching him for a hotter and more consistent fantasy receiver in the playoffs, you're not crazy.

ATL - TE Austin Hooper puts in limited practice

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com

Atlanta Falcons TE Austin Hooper (knee) remained limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hooper appears to be ready to return for the matchup against Carolina. He should be treated as a low TE1 this week.

NE - WR Mohamed Sanu limited

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Mohamed Sanu (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanu went off in his second game as a Patriot with a bushel of receptions and a score but he has been quiet since then. He's barely worth a roster spot in typical PPR leagues.

HOU - WR Will Fuller still limited

    Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (hamstring) remained limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 5

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller didn't appear to be slowed down by his hamstring issue two weeks ago when he posted 7-140 and he'll face one of the more beatable Broncos corners this week. He's still worth a WR3/Flex look in playoff matchups.

Tennessee Titans WR A.J. Brown (calf) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brown still carries high upside against the Raiders even on limited targets if he can get in a full practice tomorrow and reduce the worry level about this new injury.

WAS - RB Adrian Peterson not on field

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (toe) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This has been the drill for Peterson this year, missing practices and playing with great energy on Sundays. If he can't go against the Packers, Derrius Guice all of the sudden becomes a must start.

TEN - RB Derrick Henry upgraded Thursday

    Source: Raiders.com

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry (hamstring) was upgraded to a limited participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Henry's hamstring is affecting him, you can't tell by how he's running and playing on Sunday.

OAK - WR Hunter Renfrow doesn't practice Thursday

    Source: Raiders.com

Oakland Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow (rib) didn't participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Renfrow isn't going to return this week. The Raiders offense is sorely missing him. Darren Waller could get some more targets in Renfrow's absence.

SF - RB Matt Breida full practices Thursday

    Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

San Francisco 49ers RB Matt Breida (ankle) practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Breida will be back this week to cloud up an already difficult to discern backfield situation for the 49ers. There are three backs who should get touches, with Raheem Mostert clearly the hottest hand, but also the one that had the lowest status coming into the season.

SF - TE George Kittle stays limited

    Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (knee/ankle) remained limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kittle should still be good to go this week and belongs in lineups. His down week in Week 13 was because he was being used as a run blocker more often.

LAC - WR Mike Williams limited

    Source: Chargers.com

Los Angeles Chargers WR Mike Williams (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams has a great matchup against the Jaguars lesser corners when AJ Bouye is on Keenan Allen this week. He's due for a touchdown or two and worth a look in deeper leagues.

IND - RB Marlon Mack a full participant

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (hand) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mack should be back and getting his normal workload this week, but faces a stout Bucs run defense and should carry low expectations in fantasy matchups.

PHI - RB Jordan Howard listed as limited

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard (shoulder) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Howard still hasn't been cleared for contact. He's unlikely to go Monday night against the Giants unless this changes, leaving Miles Sanders set up for another RB1 outlook in Week 14.

PHI - WR Nelson Agholor misses practice

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles WR Nelson Agholor (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Agholor was healthy enough to play last week but clearly isn't 100%. He can't be trusted despite the good matchup against the Giants this week even if he is active. If he is inactive, it will help Dallas Goedert's case and Greg Ward will get more work.

PIT - TE Vance McDonald fully practices

    Source: Steelers.com - Teresa Varley

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Vance McDonald (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McDonald has stayed healthy this year and he has the best matchup for tight ends in fantasy this week at Arizona. He's worth a look in DFS lineups and if you are streaming tight ends in the playoffs.

ATL - WR Julio Jones back to work

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (shoulder) took part in practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones looks to be good to go, albeit in a matchup against James Bradberry which should limit his upside. He's still a solid WR2 at worst this week.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook practicing Thursday

Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Chris Tomasson

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (chest) was seen Thursday, Dec. 5, participating in the open portion of the team's practice.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cook insists that he will play in Week 14. The Vikings should limit him in practice for most of the week as he deals with this chest injury. Fantasy GMs need to have Alexander Mattison at the ready in case Cook does not play.

MIN - WR Adam Thielen still not practicing

Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Chris Tomasson

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) was held out of practice Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's trending for another missed game here. Thielen's hamstring needs more time to heal as the Vikings try to make that push here at the end of the regular season.

TB - QB Jameis Winston's future still murky

    Source: Florida Football Insiders

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston is currently playing out his fifth-year option on his rookie contract, and head coach Bruce Arians says it's still to be determined if Winston will be offered a new contract to return to the team in 2020. 'I'm gonna pass on that one. I'm gonna wait until the end of December,' Arians said at a news conference Wednesday, Dec. 4. 'There's been really, really good. And there's been some really, really bad.... I'm just going to pass until it's over. And then, we'll make a decision.'

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Who in the world knows what the future holds for Winston. He should have been better under Bruce Arians this year, but Winston is still a turnover machine most weeks. The Bucs could easily go in a different direction, be that a free agent or rookie quarterback in 2020.

KC - RB Damien Williams remains sidelined

Source: Kansas City Star - Herbie Teope

Kansas City Chiefs RB Damien Williams (ribs) will not practice Thursday, Dec. 5, according to the team.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We should see LeSean McCoy and Darwin Thompson in the backfield for the Chiefs this week against the Patriots. Spencer Ware might even factor in as Williams is unlikely to play in Week 14.

KC - Darrel Williams to IR

    Source: KCChiefs.com

Kansas City Chiefs RB Darrel Williams (hamstring) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Thursday, Dec. 5.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams is shut down after he flashed a bit for the Chiefs this year before getting banged up. With Damien Williams (ribs) also injured, the Chiefs should turn to LeSean McCoy and rookie Darwin Thompson against the Patriots on Sunday.

The potential unlimited usage was probably what Mack's fantasy owners want to hear, although the idea that Reich is going to make all of his backs active - a rarity in today's NFL - makes him slightly less attractive for fantasy purposes, especially in a difficult matchup.

    Sunday Update

NYJ - Le'Veon Bell ruled out

    Source: NewYorkJets.com

New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell (illness) was downgraded from questionable to out Saturday, Dec. 7, and won't play Sunday, Dec. 8, against the Miami Dolphins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jets will turn to Bilal Powell and Ty Montgomery on Sunday. Powell should get first crack and makes for an interesting flex option in the first week of the fantasy playoffs.

NYG - QB Eli Manning returning as starter

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants QB Eli Manning will get the start in Week 14 on Monday, Dec. 9, against the the Philadelphia Eagles with QB Daniel Jones ruled out with an ankle injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We are interested to see Manning back out there for the Giants...although Giants fans may not be as excited. It could be a train wreck for the Giants offense against the Eagles on Monday night. Manning hasn't played since Week 2 and he wasn't good to start the season. We just want to see if there's any sort of spark from Manning upon his return.

NYG - TE Evan Engram may not return in 2019

    Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (foot) said he is not sure if he will be able to play again this season but will try his best to play in one of the last three games.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looked like Engram might be back in Week 14 but he's going to miss the Monday night game against the Eagles. With only a few games remaining, the Giants may choose to shut him down and get their star tight end ready for the 2020 season. Kaden Smith continues to get a featured role with Engram (and Rhett Ellison) down with injury.

TEN - TE Delanie Walker to have procedure

    Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (ankle) said he is scheduled to undergo a procedure on his ankle next week. He said he plans to play next season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Walker wants to play in 2020 but his time with the Titans is likely done. He's got one year left on his contract, but the Titans may choose to move on. Walker is on the books for $8.3 million but there's only $1.6 million remaining in dead money. We'll see if he's back with the team or released to sign elsewhere for next season.

PHI - RB Jordan Howard listed as questionable

    Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard (shoulder) was limited in practice Saturday, Dec. 7, and is considered questionable for the game Monday, Dec. 9, against the New York Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Howard has spent the last couple of weeks limited in practice. We think the Eagles will be more than fine to roll with Miles Sanders as their lead back against the Giants on Monday night.

CLE - TE David Njoku activated off IR

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (wrist) on Saturday, Dec. 7, was activated from the Reserve/Injured list. In a corresponding move, CB Robert Jackson (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs have been waiting for Njoku to get back for a couple of weeks. You probably have a better option this week, but Njoku could be a big part of the Browns offense over the last month of the season. Let's see if and how much he plays against the Bengals on Sunday.

DAL - RB Tony Pollard could return for Week 15

    Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

The Dallas Cowboys hope that RB Tony Pollard (ankle) can return to practice during the upcoming week and play in Week 15's game against the Los Angeles Rams.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team could start mixing in Pollard a bit more to give Ezekiel Elliott a breather here and there. We'll see what his practice status is like leading up to the Week 15 game against the Rams. For now, Pollard is just a high-value handcuff for Fantasy GMs.

DET - WR Kenny Golladay open to contract extension

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions WR Kenny Golladay, who has one year remaining on his rookie deal, said that he is open to signing a contract extension with the team during the offseason.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Golladay, a third-round pick out of Northern Illinois in 2017, has one year left on his rookie deal. He's on the verge of another 1,000-yard season even though the Lions have gone through three quarterbacks (Matthew Stafford, Jeff Driskel and David Blough) this year. "I'll let it take care of itself after the season," Golladay said. "I definitely feel like I've done my part."

DAL - QB Dak Prescott banged up

Source: Dallas Morning News - Michael Gehlken

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (hands) suffered a sprained left hand and also injured the index finger on his throwing hand during the team's Week 14 loss to the Chicago Bears.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Prescott is not expected to miss time, but this injury has caused Prescott's game to suffer. He's got 10 days before the team plays the Rams in Week 15. We should see him limited in practice next week.

    Monday Update

NYJ - WR Robby Anderson posts 116 yards, score

    Source: ESPN

New York Jets WR Robby Anderson registered seven catches for a game-high 116 yards and a touchdown in Week 14 againt the Miami Dolphins and he ran once for four yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Anderson was a hit for a third straight week, but don't count on a fourth vs Baltimore on Thursday. He might be back in lineups in Week 16 against Pittsburgh if we make the championship.

NYJ - RB Bilal Powell handles bigger workload

    Source: ESPN

New York Jets RB Bilal Powell ran 19 times for 74 yards in Week 14 against the Miami Dolphins and he added two receptions for 14 yards on three targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Powell was adequate in place of LeVeon Bell but no scores and minimal passing game contributions kept his impact diluted in fantasy playoff matchups today if you were forced to plug him in.

MIN - RB Alexander Mattison totals 16 touches

    Source: ESPN

Minnesota Vikings RB Alexander Mattison posted 14 runs for 46 yards in Week 14 against the Detroit Lions while adding two grabs for 18 yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mattison got most of the work in the fourth quarter as the Vikings nursed a safe lead, but it wasn't a good fantasy result. He'll be back to mere handcuff status against the Chargers next week.

BAL - TE Mark Andrews injury update

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews (leg) has a contusion between his knee and thigh, but the injury is not considered serious, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thursday is still a quick turnaround, so expect to not have him this week and factor in more risk if he is active against the Jets.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook totals 75 yards, score

    Source: ESPN

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook rushed 18 times for 62 yards and a touchdown in Week 14 against the Detroit Lions and he added two receptions for 13 yards on two targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cook was able to play and handle his normal load. He wasn't a week winner, but he was a reward for fantasy teams that trusted him today. He'll be a must start against the Chargers next week.

TB - QB Jameis Winston has small fracture

Source: The Athletic - Greg Auman

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston (hand, wrist) has a small fracture in his wrist but was able to return to the Week 14 game, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Winston was the best fantasy quarterback of the day while he played through the injury and should be in lineups against the Lions next week. He might even be playing himself into a next contract with Tampa next year.

ATL - WR Calvin Ridley leads the way for Atlanta WRs

    Source: ESPN

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley caught five passes for 76 yards and a touchdown on five targets vs. the Carolina Panthers in Week 14 on Sunday, Dec. 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ridley looked great but also suffered an abdomen injury in this one. It could end his season with only three games left. Russell Gage and Christian Blake would get more snaps and targets if Ridley is out.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman rewards trusting fantasy owners

    Source: ESPN

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman rushed 17 times for 84 yards and a touchdown vs. the Carolina Panthers in Week 14 on Sunday, Dec. 8. He added four receptions for 10 yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Panthers run defense is gassed. Freeman won't have nearly as good a time of it against San Francisco next week, but the Seahawks backs should feast on Carolina's weary defenders.

BUF - RB Devin Singletary plays well in Week 14

    Source: NFL.com

Buffalo Bills RB Devin Singletary rushed for 89 yards on 17 carries against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14. He also caught six passes for 29 yards during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Singletary has arrived as an every week RB2, and should be in lineups next week despite the tough matchup against the Steelers.

BAL - WR Marquise Brown struggles in Week 14

    Source: NFL.com

Baltimore Ravens WR Marquise Brown caught three passes for minus two yards against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14. He was targeted three times during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brown has been a high variance play with a low ceiling, but he is still worth a shot against the Jets on Thursday night.

CLE - WR Odell Beckham Jr. posts just two grabs

    Source: ESPN

Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. finished with two grabs for 39 yards on five targets in Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Beckham didn't look too limited by his hernia, but facing Patrick Peterson next week in a low wattage Browns passing game might be too much to overcome when setting lineups.

CLE - RB Kareem Hunt scores again in Week 14

    Source: ESPN

Cleveland Browns RB Kareem Hunt rushed nine times for 28 yards and a touchdown in Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals and he added two grabs for 40 yards on three targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hunt has been a consistent PPR flex since he was reinstated from his suspension. Find a way to get him in your lineup against the Cardinals next week.

CLE - RB Nick Chubb hits century mark again

    Source: ESPN

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb rushed 15 times for 106 yards in Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals and he added one catch for 11 yards on his only target.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Chubb was spelled at the goal line by Kareem Hunt after a 57-yard run and lost his shot at a score. He's a high ceiling play against the porous Cardinals defense next week.

CIN - Strong day for RB Joe Mixon in Cleveland

    Source: ESPN

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon finished with 23 carries, 146 yards and a touchdown in the Week 14 game against the Cleveland Browns and he added three receptions for 40 yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mixon has been coming on even as the Bengals season has been slipping away. He'll be a low ceiling play against the Patriots next week but still needs to be lineups.

GB - RB Aaron Jones has monster game

    Source: NFL.com

Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones rushed for 134 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries against the Washington Redskins in Week 14. He also caught six passes for 58 yards during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones came back in a big way this week, including in the passing game for the first time since Davante Adams came back from a toe injury. He's a must start against the Bears next week.

WAS - WR Terry McLaurin catches TD pass

    Source: Redskins.com

Washington Redskins WR Terry McLaurin caught four passes for 57 yards and one touchdown against the Green Bay Packers in Week 14. He was targeted seven times during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McLaurin caught a deflected ball through contact for the score in garbage time to bail out anyone who played him today. He'll be a boom/bust WR3/Flex against the Eagles next week.

Brees killed two of my teams this weekend. Sucks to put up the second highest points (by 18) and still take the loss.

My one team that had a bye has Brees....he’ll probably put up 10 points this week.
