Updating previous reports, Washington Redskins QB Case Keenum has been named the starter for Week 1, head coach Jay Gruden said Sunday, Aug. 25.

Fire up the Eagles defense at home in Week 1 against Keenum and a very undermanned Washington passing game that will be without Trent Williams and probably Jordan Reed.

NE - WR Josh Gordon off NFI list
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon (undisclosed) was activated from the Active/Non-Football Injury list Sunday, Aug. 25, and participated in practice.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Gordon should be ready for Week 1 against the Steelers, who are hoping Joe Haden will be ready for the showdown. Gordon's performance in games without Rob Gronkowski and chemistry with Tom Brady is enough to justify a fifth round pick.

LAC - WR Keenan Allen on track for opener
Source: The Athletic - Daniel Popper
Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen (ankle) said he believes he will be ready for the start of the regular season.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Allen has been seen around practice and the worry level has gone down since surgery was invoked (and shot down as a current option) for Allen's injury. The whole Chargers offense could be a downgrade if left tackle Russell Okung isn't ready for Week 1. Doctors haven't cleared him to rejoin the team yet after a pulmonary embolism was discovered this offseason.

CAR - QB Cam Newton sheds walking boot
Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper
Updating previous reports, Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton shed his walking boot Sunday, Aug. 25, according to multiple media reports.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Newton's injury doesn't seem like it's going to keep him out Week 1, but it could still limit him and it could be something that gets aggravated early in the season. We will be watching the practice report closely.

MIA - Miami not ready to name starting QB
Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley
Miami Dolphins QBs Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen have been competing for the starting job during the preseason, and head coach Brian Flores said he is still not ready to name a starter at the position. Flores indicated both quarterbacks may play in the final preseason game.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This reflects on Rosen's play since a first week that saw Fitzpatrick emerge as the clear starter as much as it does Fitzpatrick's. Fitzpatrick might be better for the downfield receivers and Rosen the short-range receivers, but both will struggle behind one of the league's worst offensive lines.

DAL - Eight touches for RB Tony Pollard
Source: ESPN.com
Dallas Cowboys RB Tony Pollard rushed six times for a team-high 26 yards and caught both of his targets for 10 yards in a 34-0 preseason win over the Houston Texans Saturday, Aug. 24.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Pollard looked good on his touches and should be considered a strong RB2 for Week 1 vs. the Giants if Zeke Elliott doesn't report. He has a chance to be a decent PPR flex if his role is similar to the one the team had in mind for Tavon Austin after Elliott returns. Pollard is worth around a 10th round pick at this point.

CAR - PK Graham Gano's status for Thursday uncertain
Source: The Athletic - Jourdan Rodrigue
Carolina Panthers PK Graham Gano's (knee) status for the final preseason game Thursday, Aug. 29, is uncertain at this point.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Joey Slye is 6-for-6 this preseason and should get trade interest from other teams that need a kicker. The Panthers could keep him if Gano's injury is still an issue. Either way, we are likely to see both of these kickers on NFL fields this year.

NE - WR Maurice Harris let go
Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates
New England Patriots WR Maurice Harris was released Sunday, Aug. 25, according to a source.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
At one point Harris was considered the best receiver on the field in camp while Julian Edelman was sitting. Now he'll likely be available as a street free agent during the season.

CIN - WR John Ross back on the field
Source: The Athletic - Jay Morrison
Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross (hamstring) is participating in practice Sunday, Aug. 25.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The problems with the Bengals offensive line and Ross missing basically the whole summer keeps him off of the late round target list, but with a strong start vs. Seattle in Week 1, he could be a Week 2 waiver wire pickup.

MIA - RB Kenyan Drake remains sidelined
Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson
Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake (foot) did not participate in practice Sunday, Aug. 25.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Drake will share with Kalen Ballage and Mark Walton running behind one of the worst lines in the league in any scenario. His star has greatly fallen over the last month.

BUF - Robert Foster dealing with injury
Source: The Athletic - Joe Buscaglia
Buffalo Bills WR Robert Foster (toe) has been practicing even though he has been dealing with a toe injury he suffered during offseason workouts.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This could help explain his drop from a hot finish last year to #4 receiver this year. He is still worth stashing in dynasty leagues but might not contribute much in redraft this year.

OAK - RB DeAndre Washington secures RB2 spot
Source: The Athletic - Vic Tafur
Oakland Raiders RB DeAndre Washington has secured the No. 2 running back spot behind RB Josh Jacobs after Oakland released RB Doug Martin. RB Jalen Richard will remain a third-down back.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
What this really means is that Jacobs is a clear #1 back who will get as much work as he can can handle. If you were thinking of targeting him in the 3rd/4th, you should be even more eager to now.
