OAK - WR Antonio Brown day-to-day
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Oakland Raiders WR Antonio Brown (foot) is considered day-to-day because of the foot issues which caused him to visit a specialist Saturday, Aug. 3, according to a source.

That's some relief after the word "specialist" caused alarm, but we'll feel better when he's back on the field developing chemistry with his new quarterback.

HOU - D'Onta Foreman waived
Source: Houston Chronicle - John McClain
The Houston Texans waived RB D'Onta Foreman Sunday, Aug. 4.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Foreman's work ethic and habits were at the root of this action. He can run the ball well if he gets back everything he had before his achilles tear, but he wasn't big on special teams or as a pass blocker, and meeting punctuality among other things was also an issue. He might land somewhere soon with his size/speed combination. The Texans should be in the market for a #2 back via trade or claiming someone at final cuts. Josh Ferguson is set up to be a passing down back and UDFAs Karan Higdon and Damarea Crockett have an outside shot to make the team, along with Buddy Howell a 2018 UDFA who was claimed from Miami and contributes on special teams.

KC - RB Carlos Hyde making most of reps
Source: NFL.com - Jeremy Bergman
Kansas City Chiefs RB Carlos Hyde has seen increased reps with the first team with RB Damien Williams currently sidelined with a hamstring injury. 'Carlos has done a nice job,' head coach Andy Reid said. 'He's getting a lot of reps and he's taking advantage of them.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
One Chiefs beat writer and Gregg Rosenthal both raised the possibility of Hyde not making the team, but these positive words from the coach seem to downplay that doomsday scenario. He still deserves to be the second Chiefs back off of the board, but Darwin Thompson and Darrel Williams need to stay on our waiver wire watch lists, and maybe even on our late round target lists in deeper leagues.

NE - QB Tom Brady lands 2-year extension
Source: ESPN.com
Updating a previous report, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady agreed to a two-year contract extension Sunday, Aug. 4, that will run through the 2021 season. Brady will earn $23 million in 2019.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Brady apparently wanted a shorter extension than the team. For him to get this kind of extension at age 42 is unprecedented. Fourth-round pick Jarrett Stidham could be groomed as a long term replacement and he'll have a lot of time to develop with this contract on the books.

DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders active in 11-on-11s
Source: The Athletic - Nicki Jhabvala
Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles) saw 'quite a bit' of playing time during the team's 11-on-11 drills Sunday, Aug. 4, at training camp.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Sanders is coming along well and should be on target to be a starter and top target for Joe Flacco. He and Courtland Sutton should be the only Broncos receivers drafted in redraft leagues with DaeSean Hamilton set back by a hamstring injury.

ARI - WR Kevin White a starter?
Source: AZCardinals.com - Mike Jurecki
Arizona Cardinals WR Kevin White is listed as the No. 3 receiver on Arizona's first depth chart.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Preliminary depth charts are very unreliable, but White is at least in the range of making the team on this news, and he has air raid experience from his time at West Virginia. If he makes the team and is in line to get snaps, we'll keep him on the waiver wire watch list.

MIA - RB Kalen Ballage returns to the field
Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson
Miami Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage (undisclosed) returned to practice Saturday, Aug. 3, and saw time with the starters.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ballage should be a big part of this backfield in any scenario, and he has a chance to start. Getting back on the field quickly after a short absence helps his case.

SEA - Oblique injury for WR D.K. Metcalf
Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta
Seattle Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (oblique) did not participate in the team's scrimmage Saturday, Aug. 3, because of an oblique injury. Head coach Pete Carroll said Metcalf should return in a few days.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Metcalf's durability was a problem in college, so while this is a relatively minor injury, it's still frustrating to see. Hopefully he'll return to the practice field soon, but in the meantime Jaron Brown and David Moore will have less competition for first-team reps.

NO - RB Latavius Murray back on field
Source: The New Orleans Advocate - Herbie Teope
New Orleans Saints RB Latavius Murray (undisclosed) participated in practice Saturday, Aug. 3. Murray missed the previous four practice because of an undisclosed reason.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We can take Murray off of our camp injury watch list now. He's worth a bench pick as the Saints #2 back with some work at the goal line and to finish out wins.

CHI - TE Trey Burton held out of practice
Source: Chicago Sun-Times - Jason Lieser
Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton (hernia) was held out of practice by head coach Matt Nagy Friday, Aug. 2, and Saturday, Aug. 3. He had participated in the first five practices of training camp but was kept out of the two most recent sessions after appearing to struggle near the end of that stretch.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Adam Shaheen is healthy-ish again after suffering some back problems early in camp and this could be an opening for him if Burton is suffering a setback. Burton's upside is limited this year with two new backs on the roster who can catch the ball and healthier wide receivers.

JAX - Odds stacked against WR Marqise Lee?
Source: 1010XL AM - Hays Carlyon
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Marqise Lee (knee) may have 'quite a battle on his hands to win a significant role (in the offense when he's ready to return from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list)),' in the opinion of 1010XL's Hays Carlyon.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Lee isn't all the way back and if he does get there, he'll probably be a possession receiver in three-wide sets at most. He's not on redraft radar and can probably be released in shallow dynasty leagues.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Miles Sanders (foot) returned to practice Saturday, Aug. 3.

Sanders had a great practice and appeared to be unaffected by the injury scare from earlier in the week.

DAL - Bruised heel for WR Amari Cooper
Source: DallasCowboys.com - David Helman
Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (heel) exited practice with a heel bruise Saturday, Aug. 3, but David Helman of DallasCowboys.com said the injury didn't look like a 'huge deal.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It probably isn't, although the team will be extra cautious with their #1 receiver, so we might not see him practice again for a few days. We will also file this away if Cooper has any heel problems during the season.
