1) Clickbait titles. Something obscure where you have to click the title to see what the pick or picks are.
2) A new thread every time they have picks. The sharp posters here have a thread where they post their picks in each sport. Again it means they are not sharp, are here for attention, and nothing else.
3) Homers. Guys that bet their hometown team no matter what. This is also not sharp. Yes, they like their home team and obviously it feels good to them when their team wins and they'd love you to believe that they had some cool/sharp angle by leading the pack to a win. This is not cool or sharp - it is betting with emotion - and not something you want to follow - if you like money, that is.
Beware of fake tickets as well and guys saying that they have a bunch of money to throw around and are just having fun - but still want you to follow their "sharp" angle, which is an oxymoron in itself. No one cares about your dumbass ego, Vegasdave wannabe. We want wins.
I've seen a few of these -ev tactics in the forum lately and I wanted to issue anyone that doesn't know of these traps a warning of what to watch out for.
Most seasoned posters here know these things but there are some good new posters here that I don't want to see get steered into a counterproductive direction.
Any questions let me know, and run good gentlemen.
