C.Ronaldo is a good player, not a great player as everyone thinks. Even former Brazilian Ronaldo is light years ahead of C.R.

And to be honest, that's part of what makes a Team like Germany dangerous, their not littered with egos.
Germany is a tournament team who will always be in the mix.

Yeah I never overlook Germany in any of these Tournaments, not a wise move.Even Brazil isn't on their level as far as work ethic and Team Work.

I just put $1,000 on Brazil making the quarterfinals. They dont have to win the QF, they just have to make it.
    Return is $500

I love that bet,I reckon they can at least make it to a QF,they probably wouldn't have to play any of the big teams in the round of 16

I was thinking of putting $5K on them, but there's still an outside chance Neymar might re-injure himself, so I chickened out

Will be interesting to see how far Russia can go.

Simple as that.
Have you seen the games Ronaldo played in recently?

He was invisible in the CL quarter finals vs Bayern and in the finals vs Liverpool. Totally invisible.
He was even invisible vs Turin but he scored that highlight goal and all of a sudden he played magically.

Ronaldo is a good player but he has aged horribly and cant get past defenders anymore.

The most important players at Real are Marcelo, Kroos, Isco and especially ESPECIALLY Modric that carry Real. Ronaldo would be really fukkd without them.

La Liga is a difficult league with good teams and theres unreal pressure to perform at Real so maybe Ronaldo will feel a lil more free when he plays for Portugal and against weaker teams for once. Oh and he was invisible when his team won the Euro 2016 he was literally cheerleading his team to win it. Unreal.

Ronaldo was great 2-3 years ago. But once he hit 30/31 he couldnt keep up with his style of play anymore. He has lost pace, his most important quality thats why hes just standing in front of the goal waiting for the perfect pass to tap the ball in. Hes good at it but will he get those passes from his teammates at Portugal. They need a very very easy path to the qf or even finals to get that far.

This is kinda true but remember he plays in the second best league in club football. He is still the best in the world especially when compared to the runner-up regarding International play. Ronaldo will run circles around these lesser skilled players on other international teams

Goat is right about one thing, everyone should look at the rosters. Also check how many games they have played, although the break between the end of the season and the world cup seems to be about a week longer this year. Some of these lesser teams have guys who have been sitting on the bench at bigger clubs or have been rotating, which means that they could have a little more in the tank than other ones.

For those who want to pick Spain, remember that except for 2010 they've been a complete basketcase in world cups.
Its IMO a risky pick because they have an aging team in a couple of positions

    Yes, for sure!!

And I might even go with Uruguay before I would with Belgium by the way (even though the tourney is held in EU)!

Poland also very strong outlier!!! Do not underestimate!!!

For those who want to pick Germany to win the whole thing, remember that the last time a country won it back to back was 56 years ago by Brazil. I'm not saying they can't do it, but I wouldnt bet on it

Also Muller has had 2 shit years with Bayern now, plus he never scored in Euro 2016, so I'm not sure where the goals are going to come from. I guess most will have to come from Gomez and Ozil, but Gomez isnt exactly a world class striker anymore

You want to know something that in my opinion is CRAZIER than that stat you named?

in the last 16 world cups which run inclusive 1954 to 2014, Germany has finished in 4th place or better a STAGGERING TWELVE TIMES!!!

    12 TIMES out of 16 appearances !!!

They have made the final as either the Winner or the Runner up 8 times. EIGHT FREAKING TIMES !!! that is half of the World Cups in the last 64 years that they have been a participant in the Final.

IF THERE WAS EVER A TEAM THAT COULD REPEAT IT IS GERMANY

From having the best goalie in Neuer i can see it, and with great defenders in Hummels and Boateng.
Im for sure betting Germany to reach quarter final (-200) and reach semi final (+100)

Belgium and Colombia have nice odds for their talent

I like the England squad to possibly surprise...they usually choke but they picked a lot of talented younger players that don’t know any better

I think France Germany and Brazil are around the same in terms of the best chances to go all the way...Spain and Argentina a notch below them IMO

Brazil is my pick. The team is loaded and destroyed a tough Conmebol. Spain would be another pick but the team is full of old men and I see a repeat of 2014 happening.

The legit dark horse in my opinion is Poland. They have their best team in decades. Crazy how little respect you guys are giving them. Another dark horse that nobody is talking about is Nigeria. They also have their best team in decades and let's not forget how badly they annihilated Argentina not too long ago.

Do we lay the juice with Europe on this prop? Keep in mind the tournament is on European soil and the only real threats to this losing are Brazil/Argentina

Thats one way of looking at it. Another way is sooner or later they have got to go out in the 2nd round of a world up, something I believe they havent done in a long time (too lazy to google the stats)
