    This is tied to bitcoin

Everyone saying its interest rate fears but this volatility is following bitcoins demise

Lots of margin money dumped into market

I know people that asked to borrow money against their BTC holdings to put in market.

If it happened at my payday loan stores it happened at others

I think thousands and thousands of indivuduals tried to make a quick score here on borrowed money

Some believed that a crash in BTC could lead to a market correction

I thought that was silly, but the movements between the stock indices and BTC seem to be positively correlated today.

    Not a crypto expert.

Would be interested to hear one chime in though.

I cashed out of a book into some btc on Saturday and am down 15% or so, wondering if I should hold it or sell it.

The market drop the past two days has NOTHING to do with Bitcoin. The percentage of people who own, or have owned Bitcoin, is microscopic. A complete non factor with the S & P.

Yea I agree with you, but the correlation is pretty lock step today. Weird.

I'm not an expert in anything....some of you understand the wisdom in that statement alone

Bitcoin - since it was asked about will just give a quick, factual reply without getting too detailed. China government announced they will ban offshore cryptocurrency exchanges....a big deal item because perhaps more than 50% of bitcoin trading occurs in Asia.

Bitcoin / crypto market was overbought and/or manipulated to the point where just one year ago the price was $1000. Three months ago in November it was $6000, soon peaking to an unbelievable $19,000, and although bitcoin price has ALWAYS been extremely volatile, this run-up in such a short-time had shot its load and needs time to rest, irregardless of any news.

Another point is the addition of bitcoin futures trading at the CBOT and CME, leading to the possible exploitation by elites.

The story of bitcoin is NOT over.

6k was my target price (posted that previously a couple times).

So if I were you I'd hold them and pay for the trip with other money. Honest advice, but could be wrong.

I meant thought it would fall to 6k, so that would be a buying price for somebody waiting on the sidelines with cash.

Bitcoin will rise again in my opinion. So if you can hold for a long time, that's my advice to you. No sense selling it now since we could be getting close to the near-term bottom. (of course if it keeps going down to 2k or 1k then in hindsight that would look foolish)

And a man of your means can hold while paying for the trip with your regular income.

Yeah. It’s really just I have been busy, procrastinated to transfer and sell it, and by the time I looked up it was down 15% and I am like hmmm...

it could take a much longer time for bitcoin to rise high in price again, in other words not expecting a quick run-up again like we already saw

sounds like you don't want to be in it for the long-term

I don’t know. It is less than $3k so not a big deal either way.

agree. Just hold it and pay for your trip by other means. Set it and Forget it.

Haha. Yeah, this one is a summer vacay in Northern Michigan.

Wanted to go to Spain, but my wife won’t leave the little ones yet, so maybe next year.

People who live in Cali don’t need to travel as much as those of us in the Midwest.

A 1,000 point move on the Dow means nothing when Dow is about 26,000.

If you aren't happy with 20% growth per year, then I don't know what to say.
