We are getting a shitload of smoke here. You see it in the air and even though there is a wind, there's just more smoke blowing in behind it.

No fresh air at all, smoke everywhere.

It is funny how now, 4 months later, fires are getting attention. The smoke thicker than fog most days, thousands lost their homes, and people died, well over a million acres burned just in MT. Yet, nothing until now. Fukin pathetic

Stay safe KVB, saw like 20 dead or something, damn. Generally a few peeps die but 20 seems like an awful lot given that number will likely rise.

Hope all the Cali guys have a plan and are safe

It's pretty insane. Had a girlfriend crash at my place 2 nights ago because the smell in her house in North Beach was beyond bad. I'm on other side of SF and the smell/smoke is still crazy. Had fam/friends evacuated in Napa.

Thankfully everyone healthy in my circle. Prayers to those who aren't.

I'm really in no danger from flames, just a ton of smoke coming into the central valley.

This map shows fires on both sides of the valley but the area north of SF, Santa Rosa, was destroyed rather quickly.

What's crazy is how little of the fires are actually contained.

If you have fires raging around your home and are warned to vacate and you don't then that's on you..I don't know why anyone wouldn't abandon their homes when they see fires coming their way????.. Instead they decide to stay and die..

Not sure what to think about these home owners that perished in these fires???... I'd say they got lazy, stubborn and or took a chance and lost... End of story..

Can always rebuild a home but you can't rebuild your life once you're dead...

Cali isn't so bad. I'm less than a couple of hours from the mountains and snow and less than a couple of hours from the beach.

    It's hard to beat that.

You have the beach, night life, great sports city, great weather year round, beach at your back door, etc.. The cost of living is expensive but you can make alot of money here too.

Big earthquakes don't happen but every 20 years so that's no biggie, fires only rage in the Country sides and not in the big populated city areas also..Hard to leave this joint as I've been here my entire life.... This liberal State does drive me nuts sometimes.. The heavy traffic and all the millions of illegal Mexicans suck for sure.. Alot of homeless too...

The water is fine during the summer months, but it can depend on where you go.

The mountains are great year round.

    Tough to beat Lake Tahoe.

That canyon fire still causing problems. Wow.

Up here it looks like wine country is burning up. And I mean burning up. Sonoma, Napa, there's so little containment.
