Miami Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
The bad news was expected after Wake went down in Thursday's loss to the New England Patriots. Achilles tears are relatively straightforward to diagnose on the field, with MRIs performed to confirm the initial diagnosis.
The injury occurred just as Wake and the Dolphins' defensive line was starting to gain momentum. After the unit registered just one sack over its first four games, Wake alone has seven sacks since then.
