While there is a good chance Mets sweep tonight I am not going to take them in game 4. Instead I like the total here. Matz is a solid pitcher and has a very bright future, problem is his command hasn't come back since his injury, which sidelined him for a good chunk of the season. You match that with Cubs hitters who haven't been able to break out this whole series. I believe Cubs will get runs off of Matz. Mets weakness is middle relief so if Matz get chased early it only helps the Cubs.
On the other side, Cubs call on Hammel. This guy is sporting a pretty hefty ERA and is pretty much a last resort as he was tagged by the Cards last series in a short outing. Mets are going to get theirs it's pretty safe to say. If the Mets chase Hammel early it only helps the Mets as the Cubs bullpen has been out for quite a few innings already.
I believe we see some runs tonight between these two clubs, #4 pitchers vs the top two home run teams in the NL since July. I will take a shot at this total tonight as I think at least one if not both offenses show up to the party tonight in a big way.
Mets/Cubs over 9 EV
As always Go Mets!!!!!
Good luck to all, enjoy the games
